The first night was fantastic. Happy front desk that made us feel so welcome, clean hotel, modern rooms. A storm knocked out the power the second night which was a bummer but the hotel did not charge us for the nights stay. I will definitely stay here again.

We stayed here with a group of friends for our joint bachelor/ette party. The hotel was beautiful and the staff were friendly. They were quick to address an issue we had with our air-conditioning and the room was very comfortable. Several of our friends commented about how nice the hotel was. Would definitely stay again!

Absolutely stunning hotel! The intricate details, especially in the bathrooms of the rooms were better than the online pictures. I will pay for an experience! Especially when celebrating and I chose Heron to rest the evening before heading to Balian for a Birthday Spa Day. However... The customer service did not deliver. Greetings by the valet were good. My partner waited while I checked in May 19, 2025. After getting situated I explored to see options like food available right there while my partner was waiting in the lobby, after all the restaurant and rooftop were also reasons we selected Heron. Upon my return my partner had some questions... Which included who checked me in and if I was offered a tour/layout and/or what was available. With a confused face my response was "no". She stated that a woman (of another race) greeted by the same young lady had a very different experience. The host walk from around the desk and offered that level of experience. As a person who travels often, both work/leisure, this definitely set the tone for the duration of our stay at Heron and reason for my rating. We opted to not invest another dollar at this hotel and spend where treatment is equal. There are plenty options and at equal or less value with great ambiance and amenities. This will be my first and last stay at Heron. Let me say I received emails and a text for days leading up to my stay. Those messages, customer service received, and additional service fees did not align.

A chic, calm, convenient, friendly place to stay in Old Town Alexandria. The dining credit almost completely covered a breakfast much nicer than the more ordinary hotel breakfast buffets.
