I’m sad to say that this house didn’t meet our expectations. For the price and photos, we thought we would be getting a fairly nice place for our family together for a funeral in Washington DC last weekend. We found plastic shower curtains with holes them, a trashcan with food on the inside lid, a note telling us that we needed to bring our own washcloths. (I could not find anything in the listing that said we needed to bring our on washcloths.)On the positive side, the beds, particularly upstairs and downstairs, were very nice. (One of the beds was short a pillowcase though.)The backyard is very nice in the neighborhood is pleasant, the location is a short stay from a grocery store. Honestly, this could be an exceptional listing with some small changes, like a bathmat in the primary bathroom and wastebaskets in the bedrooms, and attention to detail when cleaning. (There were two mouse poops in the top kitchen drawer.) The house doesn’t need anything major, besides a carpet cleaning and fixing the cracked/broken bathroom shower handle. So I have hope that this rental will improve over time, but check the most recent reviews.

I like to start with the good things. The location was nice. It was in a good neighborhood, you could walk to the grocery store and coffee shops easily and it was just about 15 minutes to DC. This was one of the more affordable places for a larger group like ours.Based on the 10/10 reviews (which there were only 2 reviews), we expected the place to be in much better condition. The house is an older house and the photos make it look like it is in much better condition than it actually is. While it worked for sleeping, it isn't a place that we would recommend to friends. There weren't many towels, no wash clothes/hand towels, no bath mats and overall felt like a bare minimum was done to make the space rentable.This property definitely has potential and if you are looking for a lower budget option, this may be worth the trade offs. With some work, we think this place could be great but as it stands now, it needs a good amount of work.
