Spacious NW Family Retreat in Tranquil Neighborhood

Our home is one of the largest homes in the neighborhood. It is beautifully decorated for your enjoyment. Our large family room will make you feel like you are at home. House is 2,700 sq ft. The house is a close 2.5 miles from the well-known National Zoo. Also, a quick 10 minute walk to the METRO station that has a direct route to the National Mall - a perfect tourist destination.

This is a 4 bedroom (King, Queen, Queen, twin), 3.5 bath and a den “5 bedroom” it has a locking door - Queen bed - just not a window in a quiet, safe, family friendly neighborhood.
Basement : 2 queen beds and a full bathroom. Basement is connected to the house. Futon.
Second floor: King, Queen, twin.
Living room : sofa bed


The house includes three flat screen TVs (60", 47" and 32") and has Verizon Fios TV and 75/75 (extremely fast!) wireless internet. One King sized bed, 3 queens sized bed, and one twin sized bed. Additional we have a sofa bed in the living room and a futon. The space would be most comfortable for groups up to 10, but if you are willing too, the space can accommodate up to 13 people, with 3 people staying on the sofa bed and futon.
There are 4 - completely empty closets - in each of the front bedrooms for all your things; the fridge is sparkling and empty and kitchen has everything you need for cooking- plenty of dishes, silverware, cooking pans, bowls etc.
We have a pack and play for infants -additional mattress for the pack and play so baby can sleep comfortable and crib sheet. We also have one booster seat.

We provide a coffee maker, toaster and microwave. Washer and dryer included in laundry closet off of the master bedroom. Our home also has a 160 square foot deck on the rear of the home, with a grill and chairs. Perfect for unwinding and relaxing after a long day touring the city!

We will also provide a private parking spot which is in the backyard (not covered) and locked with a wooden gate. Extra parking spots are available around the house. Our area doesn't require a permit zone parking.

I am located 0.70 miles from the Georgia Ave-Petworth Metro Station (Yellow/Green Line) about a 10-15 min walk, metro bus is a block away. We are also walking distance to the grocery stores: YES Organic! and Safeway.

There are some terrific food options near my home, and I I will be sharing all those options prior to your arrival.

If you are planning to have parties/gatherings at this house - this is not the house for you. Only paying guests are allow to stay at the house.
During your stay at this vacation home, you'll be within walking distance of Howard University. Laundry facilities are available. Enjoy your stay with amenities like free WiFi and a kitchen in the vacation home.

A perfect place to stay in DC!

We loved the location and the house was beautiful! We had plenty of room for 8 people. We had everything we needed to make meals at the house. We were close to a bus stop and metro stop. We took Uber rides when we went sightseeing. Gladys was very nice and informative. We had a great time!

Graduation Week

The property was exactly as described! It was spacious and comfortable for our group of seven. The house was a short walk to the Metro, restaurants, coffee shops, and grocery stores. Gladys was responsive, helpful, and very accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and recommend this property for anyone exploring D.C. It is also close to Howard University.

Great stay for Family

The property was very clean, comfortable and plenty of room for my family of 7. Ms. Gladys was very helpful in letting us know how to use the Metro and good places to eat (Honeymoon Chicken was Delish). We were early for check in and she was graceful enough to let us leave our luggage in the living room until check in. It was a great place for me and my family to enjoy Washington DC. Awesome place!!!!

We are 6 adults and 3 children ages 2 to7. This home is gorgeous and was perfectly located for all our travels in the area and we enjoyed our walks in the beautiful neighborhood. The kitchen was extremely well stocked. The cleanliness was outstanding!! We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this property for all potential future guests

Great stay

This home worked great for our long visit with family living nearby in Petworth. A couple of things worth highlighting are how clean it was and how well equipped the kitchen is, including the small appliances (two types of coffeemakers!). I got an immediate response to a couple of questions I had. Plan to stay here again.

Clean and comfortable

The house was clean and comfortable. The location is about 20 minutes driving distance from the center of Washington DC. We drove and parked in the garage in the city and then took the subway to the White House and rode the Big Bus tour to see the monuments. Grocery stores were near by.

Perfect for our needs

Loved our stay at this property. The home was very clean and well maintained. The hostess was great to communicate with and went out of the way to help resolve minor issues that came up (ice maker not keeping up with 6 soda addicts). Good proximity to public transport - if the 0.7 mi walk to the Metro station is a little too far, we found it's pretty easy to catch a bus.

Amazing property and wonderful host

Our large family group stayed here for 4th of July week and it was one of the best VRBO properties we have ever stayed at and after 15 years of booking homes that is saying a lot. The house was super clean and the location is great. Even the neighbors were lovely. I can not say enough nice things about this property and the communication with the host was great. Check in was seamless. I highly recommend this host and property!

Our family of 9 enjoyed our stay. Plenty of room to spread out and very clean! Walk to the metro was .7 mile. A little challenging of a walk, but once you figure out the bus system it takes you right to the metro. We felt relatively safe walking to and from the metro in our group. Place to park in back is very convenient for those with a car. Hosts responded to our questions very quickly and were super helpful. Super nice place to stay!

Wonderful row house and amazing owner

My family (six kids and my spouse) spent a wonderful week at this row house. We enjoyed the many bedrooms. The family room rec area was a hit for the kids to spread out. The kitchen was easy to use, and we cooked several big meals. We could take a short walk to a bus line or a 12 minute walk to the subway and get around town. There is parking in the back so we didn't have to worry about finding a spot on the street. The place looks gorgeous. And, the owner was so kind! She reached out several times, and was available for quick questions with immediate responses. 5+ out of 5! Highly recommend!!

Great stay.

Well kept home with plenty of space. We had a full size SUV and had trouble fitting it in the parking spot/backyard but we’re able to easily find street parking. We would definitely stay here again if in the DC area.

This house was a great location for our family reunion! Lots of space, lots of beds, a great kitchen, we were made to feel right at home! We were able to get a hold of the owners when needed and they were very pleasant to work with! We would stay here if we are ever in the D.C. area again!

This house was perfect for my family!

We appreciate all the things that were already in the house for our needs! We brought more than we needed to bring. The house was immaculate, spacious, and in a nice neighborhood. We walked to the Metro everyday- not too far for the 5 kids that were with us! The beds, furnishings were very comfortable! We would all recommend this house for a trip to our Nation's Capitol!
