Overall, I liked the hotel. It is historic, it is well cared for, being over 100 years old, and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The food is good and the bar is great. My only complaints are: 1. No elevator - we were on the 4th floor, which is fine, but it did get tiring after 5 times in one day. 2. No coffee in the room. This goes with number one in that there is free coffee in the lobby, but we had to go down four flights and then back up with coffee to enjoy it in our room in bed. It would be fine with an elevator, but a cheap Keurig in the room would be a much better alternative. 3. The bathrooms are dated and not great. Some of them are shared, which you will know which one are when you book. We got a private one, and the shower was very very slow to heat up, and water got everywhere. The sink was not aligned with the faucet correctly, which resulted in a lot of water spilling onto the counter. The counter was sloped forward, which resulted in your hand washing water spilling all over your feet and the floor. 4. No, tv, but I understand that it's an old building with thin walls, not a huge deal. 5. The walls are thin, but that can't be helped really. Overall, I had a good stay, and I see the charm. However, for 4 nights it became a bit too much given the above. If I stay again, it will be for one night only. Please, put coffee makers in the rooms.

The hotel is quaint, charming, and historic. That said, it is quite difficult to maneuver around with multiple stories, stairwells, and NO ELEVATOR. If you have any mobility issues, this is not the place for you. We had to schlep our bags from the curb, through the lobby and dining room, up 2 flights of narrow stairs. I kept getting lost due to the fact that the interior is a warren of levels and staircases. The staff is nice but clueless. They wanted to put us on the 3rd floor! We should have been told about the access issues before booking. We will never again book a place assuming it has an elevator because clearly some do not. A first floor room transfer helped a bit but it was still arduous to get to the room transversing the lobby, bar, and dining room all of which had stairs!

The hotel is very old but charming as long as you understand that there will be no TV and the bathrooms will be a bit tight, but our room was large and comfortable. Two blocks from lots of dining and close to many sights. The food we had at the hotel was excellent. Will visit again!

Did not tealuze when I booked thst I woukd have to walk my bags up 2 flights of steep stairs. The room was small but adequate. No one explained about one of the keys being used for the bathroom in the hallway. The waiter staff were nice but the foid in the testsurant was not particularly tasty.

Very charming rooms, but property shows its age ("historic") - bathroom had a bad smell and shower water got all over the floor. Bed was comfortable but could use more pillows. Chair at desk was sunken and not suitable for working. No TVs just be aware of that. Meals in dining room were decent. Staff is very friendly.

The hotel is quaint and full of character. Very much appreciated the uniqueness and it changes from those ultra modern hotels. It’s also comfortable and in a desirable and walkable area. My only complaint is that breakfast gets started at 7.30 which for working guests is not accommodating.
