The place is very good, the staff is very friendly and helpful, the only thing about the place is the location, that you are a little bit isolated from everything. However it was a very good experience.

Beautiful hotel on a lovely piece of beach

Alawi is a beautiful hotel on a lovely spot of beach, 25 minutes from Watamu town. It is very elegant, quiet and private so perfect for couples. The rooms are decorated really tastefully and the food was excellent, although slightly more expensive than other parts of town. Motorbike to town is 300-400 shillings ($3-4), but taxis are much more expensive (we were quoted $30). Highly recommended to take a moto as it is quicker on the bad road and obviously much cheaper! Overall a beautiful spot and highly recommended to all!

Boutique luxury, really a perfect place to relax!

We have stayed a bunch of places in Kenya and Alawi is a new favorite. The staff are so friendly and attentive, the small boutique hotel is beautiful with lots of carefully curated details, relaxing and just a really nice spot to post up for a couple of days. They helped us arrange a motorcycle for rent (as getting up and down the dirt road in a car takes a little bit) and booked us an amazing table at the crab shack on Mida creek when we wanted a night out (seriously best table in the house). These guys and gal know what they are doing! The only negative is the beach boys if you walk down the beach but no one bothered us while on the beach in the hotel sunbeds.

Hotel is beautiful but poorly managed. We ended up leaving and not staying here because the electricity was out, therefore not AC or Fans in rooms and the pool was empty.

Charmigt hotell på stranden

Jättetrevligt litet hotell direkt på stranden. Trevlig inredning i Lamustil. Ljust och fräscht. Det fanns restaurang på hotellet. Maten var god. Frukost ingick i priset. Dock behövde man betala extra om man ville ha annat än pulverkaffe. Minus för dåligt underhållen pool och att det inte fanns några parasoller runt poolen.

An Italian oasis; exceptional food

Amazing hospitality, food and ambiance. We stayed for three nights, but so relaxing that could have easily spend there three weeks. An Italian oasis with superb food. The beach very lovely although the beach boys a bit too active.

liebevoll eingerichtetes Hotel direkt am Strand

Das Alawi Boutique Hotel ist direkt am Jacaranda-Beach. Das Zimmer war top eingerichtet und geräumig. Die gesamte kleine Anlage ist sehr gepflegt, verfügt über ein tollen Innen- und Außenbereich (Strandliegen, Sofas, Tische, Sonnenschirme, Palmen). Das Personal ist äußerst hilfsbereit und freundlich. Das Frühstück war hervorragend. Abendessen kann man im hauseigenen Restaurant - sehr lecker! Hauptsächlich waren wir zum Kiten da. Die Bedingungen waren Top. Durch den Strandzugang des Hotels konnte man faktisch vom Bett aufs Brett. Top-Spot! Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen!

Top personal & up close hotel, right on the beach!

We've been on many places, from Carlton Hotel in Cannes to SLH worldwide. This hotel has it all! A top chef, very attentive service, the cleanest maid service ever : we walked around barefoot, cause it was super clean : not even a sandy beach grain... All this, perfectly coordinated by Matteo. Nothing was to much asked : from trips to desired accessories. Nice setting, hot water with pressure, towels, bathrobes, airco, refrigerator, etc... We wanted to relive our wedding and men, we did : they designed a lovely 'patio' and we had emotional moments . (i hope they put it on their website) So, for all the newly weds and those who want 'a piece of heaven' : BOOK! Greetings from Belgium : Michel & Virginie
