I got a room in the new building behind the pub. It was very basic but clean. My only complaints are that the only door lock felt flimsy and the hot and cold water signs on the shower are reversed. It took me a minute to figure out why the water wasn’t getting warmer.

Friendly staff. While the original building might look dated, I stayed behind it in new construction. Some late night noise from the bar crowd late at night, but not too bad. Door lacked a deadbolt, just the doorknob lock.

To start with the positives: the room we were in had a big bay window at the front that offered a view of the lake, which gives the hotels name. Tina was lovely and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The negatives are that it is a very old hotel and the photos they had listed on their page was not what the hotel was at all. I spoke to some locals after our stay and the lakeview has a bit of a reputation. They said the hotel is a bit run down but the bar is very popular. Due to this it was a noisy stay (I was there for business) so this wasn’t ideal. There was no coffee or breakfast provided in the morning, just what we had in our room. Cleaning of the room could be improved as well, there was dirt and hair left behind. Overall it was an okay stay.

The property main building is undergoing a full renovation currently. Lots of potential that the owners are having done. We stayed in the new building at the back of the original hotel. Very clean and comfortable. The beds were medium firm with comfy pillows. The suite was a great size and came with fridge and coffee maker. TV had plenty of channels. Great value and clean room. Thank you!
