The Whiteball Tunnel is famous both for its designer, Brunel, and also as the scene of the first ever achievement of a speed of 100mph by a steam train, namely ’The City of Truro’ in May 1904. Discover Tiverton with its castle and bustling old market; a visit to Exmoor National Park is not be missed either. Minehead and North Devon, with sandy beaches, are within easy reach. The town of Wellington is within 3½ miles of the property, where an excellent range of shops can be found. Taunton is within 10 miles. The city of Exeter is approximately 22 miles; brimming with history and heritage, it offers many visitor attractions to keep you entertained for hours on end.
