Great house and location! The layout is perfect for families/groups with little ones. Just note that the kitchen does not have spices/oils for cooking and make sure you pay attention to trash drop off rules as convenience centers are closed on sundays.

Oasis at the Heart of West Jefferson

Spent three nights and wished it had been longer in both of this property’s buildings. A terrific retreat walking distance to downtown West Jefferson. Multiple decks, gathering areas, quiet reading spots, fire pits and well stocked as well.

Absolutely perfect. Plenty of room for the grown kids and spouses. Guest house was perfect for the family with a small baby. Well equipped, a little bit of snow, West Jefferson was fantastic as always! A very relaxed and fun Thanksgiving.

Super convenient location - We enjoyed sitting by the fire pit one night and spent many mornings, drinking coffee on the patio/swing. Location was perfect- Tucked in so close to town- up the winding driveway you hardly knew you were seconds from town -We also enjoyed walking to get coffee... I love the character and comfortable decor. It really felt like a home away from home not a rental home.and the flowers on the property were beautiful!

The area was wonderful as well!!!! The rental company went above and beyond to fix any issues that we had. The water in the cottage went out the first night and they made sure to send someone out to fix it the next morning at 6:30 in the morning so it wouldn’t disrupt our plans. I was very pleased with everything!

The house is lovely, very clean, and comfortable for our extended family of nine. We delight in the early morning backyard deer and groundhog spottings, the easy walk into town to visit the park, library, shops, and eateries, and evenings around the fire. When it comes time to leave Walnut Hill the common refrain is wondering how quickly we can return!

Absolutely perfect for a large family! The kids are grown and could go and do all the things. We’d meet back up for supper and have game. It. Was. Perfect. And I don’t know who the brainchild was behind the renovation and decoration but we loved it. Clever use of space and great colors made it feel so homey. I didn’t want to leave. We WILL be back!!!

The property is beautiful setting for my siblings for my daughters wedding in West Jefferson. Few setbacks however The lights in mudroom did not work. We had to buy 2 string lights to have light for buffet setting. No plunger on the property had us go to store to buy one. Need more garbage pails and large bags. We had too buy and store trash in mud room. Lack of an essentials but very pretty setting. Garbage was left when we arrived

Perfect location for downtown events

We stayed here for my son's wedding about 10 miles east of West Jefferson. Rehersal dinner was at Craft Bistro in town. Friends an family from around the country were in and we thoroughly enjoyed the ability to walk to breweries and restaurants in town while still enjoying an isolated setting. The driveway entrance is not very intuitive coming off the street as you actually turn into and pass through a used car lot to get to it. Once you figure yhat out, it is very easy. Super clean and well appointed home. We could live there year-round! The garage apartment was a huge benefit with separste bath and kitchen. Firepits were great though the one nearest the house was enveloped in tree limbs less than 8 ft avove the flames. These should be trimmed to prevent setting them alight. We really enjoyed our stay here and will be back.

(1hr away) Deciding to stay last minute left us with NO other options than the dank hotels in Boone area.WE were dissapointed we couldn't stay in a near the river cabin this trip but seriously didn't miss it a bit this property was awesome! First the decor and the furnishings were beautiful, updated and fresh. The beds( ALL) were top of the line and the sheets luxurious. The no fuss fireplace, fire pits, many decks, well stocked kitchen, plenty parking, and cleanliness of the house were all a plus! WE rented the additional Mother in Law suit- It had it all for the couple staying in our party-THE ONLY SUGGESTION TO THE PROPERTY MGR- PLEASE LIGHT THE PATHWAY from HOUSE to MIL SUITE- Dangerous at night!!!- Carry a flashlight until this is addressed!!!The only things we were missing was a hot tub and a game table of some sort for the kids. The location to WJ was amazing only a 5 min ride in the car to Downtown. Carolina MP is a WONDERFUL business and would rent from them anytime- we are a long time customer.

Wedding Week

My daughter's wedding was in West Jefferson at The Barn On The New River. This property was absolutely wonderful and perfect for us as we enjoyed wedding festivities and came back to relax at beautiful Walnut Hill. I fell in love with this home. It is so charming, decorated beautifully, and gorgeous views all within minutes of tge center of town. It feels private and secluded with convenience to shopping and resturants. We will be back!

It was so roomy and beautifully decorated and we loved all the little details to make it a special stay. We can't not say enough to express our thanks to the wonderful staff in the booking process. We were here due to a family members funeral and they were extremely compassionate with our reservation and easy to communicate with. We even found out that this house used to belong to our Uncles married into family member, so neat! We were able to enjoy the nice firepit as well. I appreciate all the help and info from Jennifer, Missy, and Jeanie. I recommend that even if you don't rent this house to use this company for your rental needs!
