The bar and restaurant was shut 2 out of the 3 nights (restaurant shut all 3 nights), and when it was open, he shut it very early and would only take cash! Room very basic, big double bed, but a single cover, and 1 very old pillow. Certainly kept it the basics! Breakfast was fine.

Nice hotel…. A few drawbacks.

Nice, clean, hotel. However I struggled to get food on the first two night I stayed. The restaurant was closed on Sundays and Mondays. There’s no takeouts or restaurants near by so had to order food through an app to the room. It’s on the top of a very large bank. It was a bit of a killer walking up and down everyday. I didn’t get any food on my stay so can’t comment. They have a gym but again I didn’t bother. Overall, I’d say nice for an overnight but not very interesting.

Welcoming, great rooms and great location

I have stayed in both Giessen and Wetzlar a few times but this was my first time at the Michel Hotel. The check in staff were excellent and extremely friendly and accomodating and keen to make you feel welcome. The rooms are a good size with modern fittings and very comfortable along with tea & coffee facilites which make a welcome change. The breakfast is varied and excellent quality although at around 8am the tables were a premium so would suggest going a little earlier to avoid teh stampede if possible. the location is excellent with a 10 minute stroll into town where there are several places to eat and drink if you do not fancy teh hotel. I ate in teh Hotel sports bar one night and the food was very good with excellent service again. I would definitely stay here again but the only feedback would be that check out was a little slow as only one person on the desk and additonal costs for parking but otherwise an excellent hotel and would definitely stay again.

Good hotel, 10min walk to Dom(old church) and 20min to city center, no grocery stores near by, need to go near Dom. Lifts are quite old dont worry, break fast is good. Reception staff are friendly

We loved the service, the atmosphere, and the food at the Michel Hotel Wetzlar! This was my parents' first trip to Europe and they were thrilled with the enormous breakfast & the good coffee. Definitely a winner! '

AC turned off automatically every 6-8 hours. Staff (reception) was not familiar with the options for buying groceries in the area. They just sent me to to Forum (a shopping center 10 minute drive away but you have other options like EDEKA 3 minutes away) Parking is a mess at this hotel if you don't want to pay extra for parking. WIFI is VERY slow. A big plus for the kitchen and bar staff from Champs.

Big property that is suitable for conferences, offers affordable rooms that are quite some distance from the reception. The room was cold with an airco and not too noisy. The gym was just sufficient, it was a smelly room and features 1 cable machine that was suitable for most muscles and some cardio. I loved the breakfast and the parking spaces. Short walk to downtown.
