Also on the ground floor is a spacious open plan kitchen/dining room. Venture upstairs to a cosy and well-furnished living room.
Situated within the hamlet of the historical Moresby Hall, this development used to serve as the farm and buildings and have been converted to a small group of well-designed holiday cottages. They provide the perfect base from which to make the most of this beautiful part of West Cumbria. The cottages are situated just ¾ mile away from Parton railway station and beach, which provides an unspoilt part of the coastline for a stroll along the coast. The cottage is just ½ mile from the Rosehill Theatre and the nearby restaurant offering good food, whilst just 1 mile away you’ll find a well-stocked shop providing all the essentials. The popular seaside town of Whitehaven is just 2½ miles away and has a wide range of great restaurants, bars, coffee shops, fast food and takeaways, supermarkets and a selection of independent shops as well as the usual high street brands and large retail stores. In fact you won’t go short of places to eat and drink on holiday with plenty of pubs and restaurants nearby. Whitehaven harbour is home to the Beacon Museum with its interactive displays, or you can tour the Rum Story attraction and find out all about the history of The Jefferson family from the original 1785 shop. The town also has an indoor swimming pool, gym, sports centre and golf course if you’re felling energetic. A trip to this part of the world wouldn’t be complete without visiting to St Bees Head and the pebbled and sandy beaches. St Bees is also the starting point of Alfred Wainwright’s Coast to Coast walk and has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
If you’ve come on holiday for walking, climbing or to explore the Lakeland Fells, you won’t be disappointed. In a 9 mile drive you will reach the Lake District National Park where there are an abundance of walks, cycle routes, wildlife, mountains and lakes. Ennerdale is just 10 miles away and is widely regarded as one of the most unspoilt areas of the Lake District and is teeming with wildlife including indigenous red squirrels, osprey and buzzards. If that’s not enough, Loweswater is just 13 miles away and leads to Crummock Water and Buttermere, and is well worth a visit. The scenery around this unspoilt part of The Lakes is stunning and the panoramic views are a sight to behold. Whether you want an easy stroll, a challenging walk or a serious climb, you’ve got a great base to start your adventures. Beach ¾ mile. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant ½ mile.
Swallows Return can be booked together with Owls Retreat (ref UK11944) to accommodate up to 9 guests.
One or more beds can be linked to form double or twin beds (please advise the owner of your preference soon after booking).
