Painter Cottage is a light and airy two-bedroom, two-bathroom property boasting a central location and a lawned garden in Whitstable.
You check in using a key box code. I am however local to the area, so if you need anything or have any questions, I am only a phone call away and a short drive!
This cottage enjoys a prime location right in the heart of Whitstable, surrounded by a fantastic selection of restaurants, bars, cafés, traditional pubs, excellent fish and chips, and unique independent shops. The historic working harbour is also just a few minutes' stroll away. Exploring nearby places of interest is easy, with Canterbury accessible via a short bus ride from Harbour Street, and London reachable by train. Guests can enjoy scenic coastal walks to Tankerton or Seasalter, passing charming beach huts along the way. For a longer excursion, a walk all the way to Herne Bay is also possible. Bicycle hire is readily available nearby, offering the opportunity to explore coastal paths or follow the scenic 'Crab and Winkle Way' to Canterbury.
You have access to all areas in the property apart from the cupboard in the bathroom.
After a delightful day at Whitstable's beach, this charming fisherman's cottage, nestled in the heart of the conservation area, offers the perfect retreat for a leisurely stroll home. The artistic décor is fresh, light, and comfortable, providing all the essentials for a relaxing and home-like stay in Whitstable. Guests step directly into the cosy living room, which leads through to the dining room comfortably seating up to six people. The long, well-equipped kitchen, complete with a dishwasher and washing machine, extends to the patio doors and features a charming breakfast table and chairs overlooking the sunny garden – an ideal spot for a morning coffee. A convenient modern wet room with a toilet is also located on the ground floor, particularly handy after a refreshing dip in the sea.
Ascending the stairs, you'll find a large, bright bathroom with a bath, WC, and basin, as well as two bedrooms: a double and a twin, both featuring original decorative fireplaces, adding a touch of historic charm to your Whitstable retreat.
There is free street parking on the road and surrounding roads. The nearest paid parking is Victoria Street or Gladstone Road car park. You can view the charges on the Canterbury City Council website. Parking can be limited in the high season but once you have parked up, you are close enough to walk into town, beach, shops etc.

There are frequent busses running from Whitstable to Herne Bay and Canterbury. You will find bus stops along Harbour Street, High Street, Oxford Street etc.
The trains from Whitstable station will take you to Ramsgate or further afield to London. Whitstable Train Station is about a 10 minute walk to the town centre.
Whitstable Taxi services are available for short fares or airport runs.
The nearest airports are in London and the nearest Ferry port is in Dover.
