The from the 09th Century castle was enlarged over the centuries, and from about 1750 transformed into a Baroque castle. Last used as a boarding school, the castle was from 2005 a major overhaul and modernize while preserving the historic facades. Today the castle is used for private purposes.

The keep still goes back to the original fortification, with the German order of knights secured the road to the east.
In the village Wiesenburg you will find the most important shops and the restaurant carriage house right on the castle. In the surrounding woods you can walk for hours without meeting anyone. And yet you can from the station, just located at the end of the castle park, within about 50 minutes journey time by train reach the capital Berlin with its countless museums and shopping.
