It was an okay stay. Close to everything. Clean. A little dated unit. The biggest problem was we booked Patriots Place. We got a call day of arrival that we would be staying at this property. We previously booked a full kitchen for Thanksgiving. Well this resort gave us an efficiency kitchenette. On top of that, at check in they charged $75 amenity fee, which we knew nothing about. Finally the charge was reversed because Patriots Place does not have that fee. We have always stayed at Powhatan Plantation, which I like better, much bigger units.

I didn’t appreciate the high pressure pitch to go to a Time share meeting during check in. Then after we turned it down we got a confirmation phone call confirming that we were scheduled. I had to tell them again no we’re not interested.

The place was inviting, clean and had plenty of space for the two of us. My only frustration was the bathroom sinks because for a person like me who is only 5’ tall, the sinks were not only too high, but the lip was too deep. I had to stand on my tippy toes to brush my teeth without making a mess. I have a bad back and leg, which made it even more difficult. I wish places would stop building everything for 6’ tall people.

The suite was beautiful and spacious. We appreciated the location, however, be aware this is a time share property. Even though we booked through hotels.com we were pressured from the time we checked in to attend a sales presentation. Even after refusing, we received daily texts to try and persuade us to attend. For this reason we will not return.

Not safe for seniors

Room was very sizeable, but not that comfortable. There was a full-sized kitchen and even a dining room. However, the living room furniture was hard. The soap was attached to the wall of the bathtub 15 feet from the shower. The bath tub was not safe for seniors, but neither was having to walk across the bathroom, wet, to get shampoo. The toilet seat looked like a dog chewed it up. Toilet seats are pretty cheap--maybe go to Home Depot and get a new one? The setting is pretty.
