Motel refused to honor Expedia AARP rate. Wanted cash only. Refused to even speak on the phone with Expedia. Would not recommend this motel to anyone. Expedia and other online booking agencies should remove this motel from its list.
Our room was dirty, smelly, and down right outdated and debilitated. Water backed up in tub, which had a nasty shower curtain. Power outlets between beds did not work, so i could not charge my phone or use my cpap machine. Will never try to save on a room and end up in a dump like this with outdated poor air, boobtube tv, would have rather stayed in a tent!
Nasty!!! Filthy and that was just the carpet ..saw the sink for the bathroom and left... it was water damaged..cracked tiles.. black mold..filthy..I was afraid to even go near it to see the bathroom!!! I left and went to Red Roof Inn.

Quick family visit
Needed to stay a night during a recent trip. Hotel is conveniently located. Could use a little updating but it was quiet and I slept like a baby. Dead bugs in window, but so what, it's Wilmington! At least the alligators stay IN Greenfield lake now. It was worth the price.

It is truely a two-star or less! :0/
Lights bulbs out or broken. had to ask for coffee. No shampoo or conditioner. people working on their car and banging on a door at 3:30am. Desk staff had no manners. Even a simple a simple than you for staying would have been nice.Good thing I was only there for seven hours. But again. It is rated appropriately and I new that going into it.

Beach trip
its in a nice quiet area. The pool was not open. The staff were nice. The bed comforters had holes.
Arrived there about 11am, no room until 3 pm, so we decided not to stay, we were ready then seeing we booked in advance, so we told her, lady at front desk/ owner we would go else where, which we ended up across the street, room was available, so we took it, these people still tryed to charge us for the room because they said we did not say the word cancel, we got our money back, but that place is not worth the time or money, save so you can go somewhere better.

Lied and cheated
I was told the beach was only 5 minutes away, it was about 35 minutes. I was also told that there was a pool, but wasn't told it was closed. Humongous roaches outside the room but hotel cleaning lady was very helpful and friendly. Prices were good but overall stay was not so good.

You get what you pay for but the pool is a lie
I needed a single overnight stay on a holiday weekend, and with the nice shot of the pool I thought I could get some peace from my teens after driving 10 hours from New York. Judging by the amount of time that has passed since another reviewer said the pool was closed, it looks like that pool is not planned on ever opening. Its covered with cinderblocks and a painter's tarp. The room we had was ok. It did not have bugs, but the bedspreads were completely worn and stained, with cigarette burns. I brought my backup blankets from my car, which was fine. The room had some painting done recently, and the tile in the bathroom area floor was new. Remote control for the tv did not work. There was an overwhelming smell of febreze in the room, which was very suspicious. The carpet along the baseboards looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in 5 years. But this room was acceptable for about 110 bucks over a holiday weekend. I was really annoyed about the pool, because I would not have booked it otherwise. But overall, it was ok for the price I paid.
Overall spacious and decent hotel for the price range and location. Has been very quiet the two times I have stayed; once over Memorial weekend. I recommend bringing your own towel and washcloths as those leave much to be desired. Mini fridge seems to be a standard for all rooms which is nice for beach trips.
Very outdated hotel. Staff was unfriendly and not accommodating. Room door had no bolt lock, less secure than any standard house door. To feel safer we moved the table in front of the door. No iron or ironing board.

My experience here
The pool was not up and running. The photo on here was not the same hotel it actually turned out to be. There were bugs inside the rooms (cockroach in the tub) speaking of the tub, it drained extremely slow I didn't even bother to get in I put my clothes back, left and found a different hotel. The bed and everything was nicely made not sure how it was to sleep in it. For the price is was...maybe its not to bad. If you are on a budget maybe you can suck up the not so pleasant features of the room. But for me, the extra buck was worth it. I couldn't stand the bugs, shower and smell. Hope this helps!
If you want a big room, with a big bed for cheap, it's great! Everything else was a disappointment, gross and the people are rude! Our door wouldn't even lock, I felt that was very unsafe.

room was ok, not great but had all the right thing
room was clean and comfortable. friendly people, room was dated in appearance but nice
The rooms contain furniture made of wood. My room had a brick wall between one of the rooms, which cuts back on noise. The room was quiet. The rooms meet your basic needs. For realistic people, this is a safe, comfy stay.

Family weekend stay
Room was ok for the price. The bed was horrible! And the shower was worse. I wouldn't stay there again!
We were afraid to sleep at this hotel. Upon check in there were no towels in our hotel room, the bathroom was disgusting and it had obviously been a smoking room converted to a non-smoking room that the carpet had not been replaced in. I would not let my dogs sleep overnight in this facility. The swimming pool had no water in it at all. I would remove this hotel from you list of options in the Wilmington, NC area.
I should have taken pictures. We should of went some where else be our stay was prepaid by an online travel service . Its very hard to get a refund when you get a package deal. We had 2 non smoking rooms that smelled like wee. The rooms have not been updated since the 80s. There was tiles missing from the bathroom wall, probably because the rooms are so out dated they don't make that tile anymore.. you could see how the panted over mold and plaster peel. The carpets was so dirty they we couldn't keep clean feet. We ask the front desk to have someone to mop our bath areas be it never got done. I checked by taking a wet wipe across the floor. We all had bed bug bites. And little worms we kept throwing outside. The waters bugs were bold. The wall paper was peeling. We did say our 7 days. We are a military family and we just tuffed it out. It was a place to lay our heads. We were out enjoying all the history that Wilmington had to offer. It was a lot. Therefore we were gone from morning to night.

A family wedding brought us there, and the motel was conveniently located.
Room smelled good, big TV, we used the chairs and table. Close to restaurants.

TERRIBLE AND OFFERS FOR DRUGS FROM HOTEL PATRONS
wE ASKED FOR EXTRA BLANKETS FOR THE KIDS AT 9PM. IT WAS LATE AND THEY NEEED TO GOTO BED. IT TOOK 3 HOURS FOR THEM TO GET THEM TO ME AND I HAD TO GO GET THEM MYSELF. NEVER AGAIN THIS PLACE IS DIRTY AND ALOT OF RIFF RAFF ARE AROUND. IT DEFINATLY WOULD BE A PLACE TO GO GET DRUGS OR DRUNK AT.
This hotel is located in a bad neighborhood . There were people walking around , seating out front drinking. People just hanging out in the parking lot (tailgateing). Maybe for young people and collage age kids . I asked for a refund. That is why they don't show a picture. Not worth the price for safety . Magikp
Linens were in awful condition, old, thin and blankets had holes. Shower had mold all over and had a constant drip. Air conditioner in room did not work well. My stay was the opposite of the motel name, NOT America's Best.
