What a terrible way to end the vacation...
Final stop on a 2 week holiday and what a disappointment.The photos & description are mostly accurate, but they don't reflect how dirty the unit was. The shower, the mirrors, the windows, the kitchen sink! If they cleaned at all, they spent perhaps 10 minutes on the whole unit.I should have been prepared when the owner didn't answer any questions via VRBO chat, before our arrival. On the day we checked in, we didn't have access instructions until we were in Windsor sitting at the train station with our baggage. And then, we had to get the door code by contacting VRBO customer support for the owner's number.Access to the unit was down a shabby lane, littered with junk, dog poop & over-grown plants. The taxi driver didn't even believe we had the right address!The foyer absolutely stunk!The unit itself is large and could be a beautiful flat, but it was filthy. There was no toilet paper or hair dryer. The curtain rods were falling down or fallen. Most of the blinds didn't work.Icing on the cake? I should have noticed the rental didn't offer wifi and their aerial only picks up 3 channels.We had a wonderful trip to England, but on our last step we were exhausted. And this shabby, sad apartment finished our special trip on a very bad note.We booked this unit because our original plans fell through at the last minute and this was the only rental still available in Windsor.Word to the wise, beware a cheap rental. Proof of the old adage, you get what you pay for.
