Cheerful Cottage Nestled on Beautiful Witmer Lake

Enjoy yourself in this cozy cottage nestled on the channel of Witmer Lake! Witmer Lake is 1 of the 5 connecting lakes in Wolcottville's popular Indian Chain of Lakes. This fully-renovated cottage is full of charm and everything you need for a restful break at the lake! Whether you find yourself kayaking on the water (3kayaks provided for use during your stay), grilling on the patio, or catching a break from the heat inside watching your favorite show (smart T.V and internet provided during stay)., you are sure to always be doing something you love! There also will be a boat available for rent separately if you are interested in cruising the lakes that way! After a long day at the lake, grab a bite to eat at one of the local restaurants nearby or cook in our fully-equipped kitchen! On a rainy day, enjoy some game time with the games provided or take a quick 20-minute drive Shipshewana (a tourist town full of Amish heritage, shopping, restaurants, flea market, and more!).

This charming lake cottage has been remodeled with 2 bedrooms (1 master bedroom with a Queen size bed and 1 additional bedroom with a Queen bed as well!) There is a master bath with tub and shower along with a half-bath. Enjoy the sun as it shines through the beautiful open-concept kitchen and living space with a couch that folds out as an extra bed, 2 swivel chairs and bar stools for additional seating. Beach towels are provided. A laundry room with a washer and dryer is also provided for your convenience!

The entire cottage is available for you to enjoy! Parking is provided for up to 3 vehicles in the drive-way. A gas grill is also provided. If you would like to float in the lake, please bring your own floats! A pontoon is available for rent separately with advanced notice.
A key pad is located on the main door nearest to the drive-way. Upon booking your stay, you will be provided a unique code in order to enter the cottage during your stay.

We ask that prior to departure all dishes be cleaned and trash be taken out (garbage can will be provided outside). Thanks!
The pontoon rental fee is as follows $200 for first day, $125 each additional day Or $700 for the week. Payment for pontoon is made at the time boat is delivered not through VRBO
**Clean up of your pet's waste is required before departure. Pets are also required to be on a leash when outdoors for their own safety and for the safety of neighboring pets.

Cute small cottage on Lake Witmer!

The cottage was clean and nice. Easy access to parking, entry and good space for a small group to stay. The host was friendly and helpful. Easy to communicate and responsive. The additional pontoon rental availability was great! The lake was beautiful. It met our needs perfectly!

Perfect Mother's Day/Birthday weekend

This property is cozy, cute and clean! Everything was as advertised. Very well stocked kitchen! We had a fun weekend fishing, kayaking, playing games and having a bonfire. Great communication with host! I recommend this property for a quiet, relaxing stay.

Warm and inviting little cottage

Cottage was exceptionally clean and inviting. We had a wonderful stay. I would suggest, if you like cozy/softer beds, to bring your own mattress topper. The mattresses are a little dated/firm. The neighbors were pleasantly friendly. If you enjoy waking early, you can sit out on the patio and watch the neighbor roll his yard with a large riding “steamroller” machine. Nice location on the water. Enjoyed watching the ducks swim around.

nice cottage but could use more hooks in small bathroom. lamp by couch has bad plug, bent. Bed in master is way too high, they had to use ladder to get onto bed. dangerous for seniors. could have used more bath towels.

Peaceful and clean

Such a peaceful and beautiful place. Great neighbors. Great fishing. I enjoyed the fire pit while my husband caught fish right off the front yard! Our dog was welcome and that is such a bonus. The Hosts are very accommodating too. Can’t wait to come back.

Peaceful and relaxing!

My family and I stayed here on a trip to Shipshewana, which was a short and easy ride from the house. The house was everything it was supposed to be and more. Very clean, peaceful and relaxing. The owner was very helpful in answering our questions and we were even able to get some firewood delivered. Would definitely recommend to others and would stay again. Thanks for a great place to stay!

Perfect mix of relaxation and fun

Our family stayed for 4 nights. The kids enjoyed kayaking, paddle boating, swimming and fishing right off the dock. We brought our boat and enjoyed cruising, tubing and fishing out on the lakes but watch out for that low bridge to get to the neighboring lakes. Lol.

A Wonderful Retreat

We had a wonderful relaxing stay at the cottage. It was so quiet there, the lake was beautiful and we were lucky to have great weather for our trip. The cottage was clean and we had everything we needed to be comfortable. The communication with the owners was excellent and it was so fun to have the opportunity to rent the pontoon! By the end of our stay, the family didn't want to leave and are likely going to beg me to re-book next year. Warning to next family who stays there: Beware of the duck next door-he'll chase and nip ya! lol :)

Father's Day Weekend

Enjoyed afternoon visits from daughter and grandkids, then son and daughter-in-law. Everyone wants to go back! Amenities I would suggest having salt and pepper shakers in the kitchen and a hair dryer in the bathroom. We did get to use the paddle boat after we figured out how to get in and back out using the seawall. Dock is too high for small boats
