The Space:

A serene escape from the city, Hillis House overlooks a gleaming lakeshore. Under the warm Wisconsin sunshine, glide across the water on the provided kayak and paddleboard, play a yard game, or fish off the dock. During the colder months, this area is wonderful for snowmobiling, and your rigs can be parked in the home's garage - safe and secure. Inside, kick back and warm up in front of the heat of the stone gas fireplace. Steps away, the full kitchen positively gleams with its granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and wooden cabinetry. Meals can be enjoyed as a family at the in-kitchen dining table or alfresco on the picnic table. Adorned with wilderness-themed mementos, each of the bedrooms offer airy spots to rest your head. Downstairs, a second kitchen, a second fireplace, a dart board, a wet bar, and a seating area are ready to host hours of entertainment. A designated work desk, separate washer/dryer, and central air-conditioning round out the home's conveniences. As the sun begins to set over the water, gather around the firepit for gooey s'mores and campfire stories. Away from your stay, the adventure continues at Torpy Park, Min-Aqua Bats Water Ski Show, Wildwood Wildlife Park Zoo & Safari, and Northwoods Zip Line Adventure Tours. Dakota the area manager was very polite and helpful. The house itself has some maintenance issues, the biggest being the lack of water pressure and at one time a total lack of water, not filling toilets etc. There were a few other things that would make the home more up to par with other VRBOs we have stayed at. Clean the fireplace glass and rugs which looked dirty. Steps up to the house were icy and difficult for people in their 60-70s, salt and attention to that would have been safer and helpful. The code box itself had too long of a code and didn’t work well. We were afraid of being locked out at very cold temperatures. A four digit code is adequate, not 10 digits in ten seconds. Beds were not very comfortable, suggest that you invest in better mattresses (and pillows as one had a very bad stain on it).

We had a great visit. The accommodations were updated & clean; however, the beds were a bit hard. Also, the upstairs shower head dripped & had to be hung downward toward the drain.All-in-all, I would highly recommend this vacation home.

The house was great. Clean, lake was wonderful. Woodruff is a hreat town to visit and enjoy! Check in and check out- was very easy!

Nice house at the very small lake,but needs some improvement, blinds in the kitchens needs to be change (are super dirty )blinds for back door patios are not functional to make private in the night,fan not works, downstairs bathroom the shower lighting not works, outdoor table and balcony needed to be clean ,you can't eat outside (it's green from dirty water and dusting )but overall it's Okay.

Beautiful property!

We enjoyed the property very much, especially being on the lake. Caught a lot of fish, everybody was very happy! We had great weather and scenery with the beautiful fall colors! The house was cozy, great get away!!

Great place in Northwoods!

We had a group of 9 stay here for a few days and it was a wonderful experience! The house was clean and had way more than enough space for our group. The kids loved the games provided and we had a lovey fire with the wood onsite. The small lake had a beautiful view of the fall colors. The whole area was super pretty and quiet with plenty of privacy. My brother caught a huge large mouth bass off the pier and the patio had plenty of space to hang outside. This house is close to downtown Minocqua and had tons of food options. We would definitely stay here again!
