Unfortunately our expectations were not met when we stayed in the Reef Deluxe Adults only side of the resort. One of our rooms wasn't ready until well after 3pm. Our room fan was noisy and while it was looked at it wasn't fixed. On our first morning we had no COLD water in either room for showers. The promised turn down service only eventuated on our final night. The room cleanliness was great and the cleaning staff were both very friendly and helpful. The Adults only pool was murky and the pool tiling was very slippery with wet feet if you stepped on the white tiles. Three of us managed to get cuts on our feet from this and saw at least three more guests slip and cut their feet also, including one who needed extensive first aid. While the staff weren't unfriendly they did appear to be overworked, very thinly spread and lacked knowledge regarding basic questions which suggests a high staff turnover. We were also surprised to be told that while paddle boarding and kayaks were free to rent for however long you wanted the snorkeling was limited to one free hour per day and then payment of $35 per hour was required - per guest! This seems exorbitant. The restaurants were great though. The buffet breakfasts were extensive and we enjoyed the quality and the choice offered by 3 restaurants. We also enjoyed dinner at both the Italian and Asian restaurants and the pricing was very reasonable. Also the golf and horse riding were great. The horses were very well kept.

The island is idyllic and a good location, easy to get to from Nadi airport. All the staff warm and friendly. For those familiar with the Shangri-La brand, this property is very different and more like a 3 star resort. The food & beverage, for those after a 'culinary delight', is very disappointing

Having stayed here maybe a dozen times over the last 20 years the staff were always what made the resort amazing but although most were great I had issues with billing that were handled poorly and we were lied to. Management promised to take care of it( remove the cost from the bill) but on check out this promise was not honoured until I pointed this out.

We stayed in a Reef Bure and, while the island is stunning, the experience didn’t match the resort’s five-star image. The Reef Wing photos online show a sandy beach and clear lagoon, but in reality, this area is rocky from natural lava flow and scattered with coral. The lagoon is knee-deep, so swimming isn’t possible unless you go to the family area on the other side of the resort. Our Reef Bure, said to be about six years old, felt quite worn — chipped tiles, scratched furniture, loose fittings and a general lack of maintenance. A small ceiling gap even allowed a bird to nest inside. Housekeeping was inconsistent, with towels and minibar items often missed and the patio never cleaned during our stay. Check-in involved multiple pre-authorisations (including FJD $150 per night and an extra hold for the golf buggy) plus a 5% card fee, which felt excessive. The adults-only pool was green and murky for our entire stay, while the family pools appeared clear. Although some guests still swam, we didn’t feel comfortable doing so. Breakfast offered good variety but patchy service, with missing spoons and extra charges for cappuccinos. Dinner quality was inconsistent, and themed menus made it hard to dine spontaneously. Overall, the natural setting and friendly staff are positives, but the resort feels dated and under-maintained. Couples seeking a tranquil, high-end adults-only stay may be disappointed, while families wanting a relaxed island base might still find it enjoyable.

The place is gorgeous, you have everything you need too bad that most of the staff are not great, they just don't know how to cater to tourists that well.
