Disappointed for the price paid

We stayed here during our trip to Yellowstone. Although the hotel boasts an unplugged atmosphere there wasn’t even a tv in the room. The phone signal in Yellowstone is very spotty so I personally feel WiFi would make the hotel more appealing. The room was rather small but it was tidy. Overall, for the price we paid I wish we would have stayed somewhere else.

I thought we were staying at the Lake Yellowstone Hotel on the Lake. It was not even open for the dates I needed. I picked this for its beauty and location. InI was told they were not open and we had to stay in the Sandpiper area behind the large hotel that wasn't open. Needless to say, not a view of the Yellowstone Lake. These rooms had no wifi nor TV or restaurant. If the rooms were hot they would bring you a fan. The rooms were NOT clean and looked like out of the 40's. It was so old we could hear people walking on the floor upstairs. Not pleased at all.The front steps had safety cones because the steps were falling apart. The charge of over $400 per night was a rip off and we stayed for 2 nights. I do have pictures if I can get them off my cell phone.

Great stay! Quieter side of the park

Fabulous. Bare bones being in a national park, but they all are like that. Its a cabin not the Ritz. The hotel had good reasonably priced food as well.

We stayed in the cabins. They didn’t look that impressive on the outside but the inside was surprisingly very nice. Beds were comfortable, cabin was roomy with a lot of windows. No AC wasn’t a problem with all of the windows and fan. The high for the day was 82 and the room was cool and comfortable when we arrived. The view of Yellowstone lake with the mountains in the background is breathtaking. There was wildlife walking down the road near the lake. It was a great stay!!

We were in the cabins. The set up is definitely more of a glamping vibe. Room itself was nice. Missing a few normal amenities we are used to..mini fridge and microwave. A walk for ice, dumpster was located next to my parents cabin so you can toss your trash. We got in late after a day in the park and locating nearby food was an issue, luckily we had a cooler. I would describe the cabins as yellow sheds made into 2 rooms divided by a wall…So you have a neighbor. We could hear our neighbor walking around while we were trying to sleep. There are a lot of cabins close together and people siting in chairs out front of their cabin. Shared internet with another hotel up the road…unless you’re making a call or text it’s basically useless. On the plus side, overall the cabin was nice on the inside, the actual hotel is beautiful, lake view from the front of hotel is beautiful. We had a bison out side our door in the morning. Not a bad stay, but I might’ve done things differently.

This is so sad. This grand old hotel is almost unusable when it claims to be restored. 2 rooms for one night were actually cabins so far away the Wi-Fi didn’t work. No restaurant, no bar, only food is a coffee room down a long hall. The hotel is 80% closed off at water front prices. Only the staff saved this review. I had grand memories of this hotel from 25 years ago and wanted to share with family and grandchildren to only find a yellow hulk never to return to again. Spiderwebs in the windows, noisy neighbors in the cabin farm. So disappointed.

We knew it would be a risk going pre-busy season but the place was a ghost town except for staff. The little yellow cabins are adorable and comfortable, we had a window that rattled with any inside or outside movement but that was taken care of with a coffee stir stick. A huge perk was being inside the park already when you get up to go vs. having to drive in. We had to drive to the lodge to get dinner which is high priced cafeteria food (don't waste your money on the salad it was an extra small pre-packaged side salad) but the specialty dinners were decent, if you want alcohol you must visit the bar outside the dining room. For breakfast the deli in the hotel was open, again over priced with limited options, we got a banana that was frozen solid. The on-duty staff were nice and pleasant, the off duty staff ignored and avoided you. Watch what is open when and where, we got to closed places multiple times because we were there too early or too late.

dusty and VERY dirty, no wifi, no on-site restaurant, basic amenities. Way overpriced. It's the worst hotel room I ever stayed in my life and I'm paying more than USD 300 per night. I think the hotel expects the guest to clean the room and leave a broom in the room!. It's 90 minutes to Old Faithful and 30 minutes to Canyon Village

This stay felt like a 2-star experience at the Ritz-Carlton prices. While the view of the lake was truly breathtaking, everything else fell short, especially for the cost $$$$$. The cabin was highly dated and poorly maintained. The heater was old, there were no towels or soap provided, and basic amenities like a microwave, refrigerator, and even a phone were missing. With no phone or Wi-Fi, we had to physically drive back to the lobby just to request essentials. There was no coffee refill on the second day, and the on-site restaurant was closed for renovations. We absolutely loved our trip to Yellowstone, but the two nights in the Lake Yellowstone Hotel & Cabins were a low point, and ironically, the most expensive lodging of our trip. The room was extremely basic, and for the price paid, it was a major disappointment. Unless the property undergoes serious updates and service improvements, it’s hard to recommend staying here.

This is a 2-star hotel with 4-star hotel prices and a nice lobby. Show up knowing this and you won't be disappointed. We stayed in the Sand Piper Lodge and had a King Bedroom. Our rooms wasn't ready until 30 minutes after check-in time Two dirty rags were left in our shower Restaurant was closed for renovations Rooms were highly dated and not well kept. The owner group has not made a meaningful investment in the property in quite some time. It's well overdue. They're likely not incentivized to if they're on a government contract and know they'll have a consistent stream of income regardless of improvements made.

Very outdated property. No TV, no WIFI, no fridge, no microwave still one night for $500. Total cabin sq ft cud be 200 sq ft. If guy/gal is very big then probably he/she has to take shower in the lake as he/she might not fit in the standing shower. Some other hotels shld build properties in this area else there is no choice but book here.

The hotel was closed and we were put in a low budget annex in the parking lot, they did not inform us of this until we were there and still charged us full price for a lake view room. Terrible customer service, lots of "I'm sorry" but no, "hey, since we've put you in a motel 6 in the parking lot how bout if the cost reflects that."Instead we paid over $1000 for two nights in a dirty cheap motel.

The cabin is quite old, small and buggy. Lighting was also poor. The main dining hall is under renovations. The other dining facility (Wylie’s) had mediocre food. I thought the lake would be more accessible but there is a cliff to get to it.
