The apartment was fantastic with plenty of space and absolutely spotless. We were going to the Barbican Theatre inYork so this was ideal as it was only a four-minute walk away. It was also only a short walk to the city centre but there were a lot of lovely cafes/restaurants close by. There was also a Tesco and Sainsbury's nearby.

Great stay at ryedale house

Overall very pleasant place to stay in York. We’ve been in a couple different staysYork houses and accommodations and we thought this one was very good for our family. Only thing to improve is to have parking closer as we had to go use a council run parking lot.

Beautiful apartment with a fantastic location. Apartment could have been cleaner a lot of dust around so obviously hadn’t been let out for a while, twin beds weren’t made up that didn’t ruin our stay though. Facilities on offer were good, disappointed no TV in the bedrooms especially as a family of four. York has a lot to offer but definitely shop around before purchasing trips/tours. MAD ALICE nighttime tour is a must !!

Overall a lovely place in a great location

Firstly, it felt very secure staying at Ryedale House, the lobby was lovely and the receptionists were friendly. Overall the apartment was very tidy and spacious and looked just like the photos. I did find a few hairs in the bedroom and bathroom. When contacting Stays York they were always swift with their replies, for example when we couldn’t get the lights to work in the kitchen/front room. I would suggest putting in the Welcome Pack that the switches need to be held on for a while to come on, otherwise you may get more people thinking they’re not working. The only other issue we had was that the sliding window in the front room did not work, a maintenance man came to check it but it wasn’t fixed. I didn’t receive an email on an update about that unfortunately. I would stay in the building again but might try another apartment.

Disappointing

If we hadn’t booked with Stays York a number of times before, including twice previously at Ryedale House, we might not have been so disappointed. We didn’t realise that the parking permit was for a Council car park. When we’ve stayed before the permit has been for the car park at Ryedale House. It was a pain having to park in St George’s Field and leave the car is a deserted open air car park overnight. For previous bookings Stays York have left a generous welcome pack including a box of tea bags, a bag of coffee and various treats. This time we got a brown paper bag with 4 tea bags, 2 coffee bags and two duo packs of biscuits (for four of us). Luckily Tesco is very close so we could get what we needed. The apartment was fine for three nights when we were out most of the time but I don’t think it would be comfortable for four people to spend any length of time in. The master bedroom lacked surface space, just a tiny shelf to keep anything on. The king sized bed was too big for the room and left very little space to walk round the foot of the bed.

Wonderful Apartment

Location was great, only a 5 minute walk to the city centre and amenities. Apartment was clean, tidy and modern. There was an issue with closing one of the large windows and when we reported it to Stays York they got someone out immediately. The problem was not rectified during our stay and at the point of leaving it was still ongoing. Stays York have offered to provide part refund to compensate for this but yet to receive the payment. Apart from this issue the apartment was lovely and had everything we needed. Stays York however, is what let the whole vacation down. The description of parking facilities was misleading. Please be aware it is a parking permit for off sight parking - permit for York Council run public car parks. The nearest one is St George's Field approx 10 min walk away and not in view from the apartment. Please make sure Stays York has actually registered your car. Although they assured us they had registered ours, we received a surprise parking ticket on day one - after seeing their office in person, they paid and rectified this. All in all, we recommend using the apartment and hope you have a wonderful time staying there.
