Only that i am not used to traffic,so had a job to sleep,and not en suite,was close by and private,cannot fault anything else and tried to get again but was full up

Lovely traditional guest house. Friendly and helpful owners. Great breakfast. Electric shower struggled with water pressure at times, but managed to get through it. Perfect location. Would definitley use again.

Small but perfectly formed.

Pros: Small, friendly and very personal. A good location out of the noisy centre but easily walkable.
Cons: Really nothing!
Location: We bought a two day York Pass and reckoned we had good value from it in a day and a half. The Minster, Jorvik, York Castle Museum, tour bus etc etc
A friendly and helpful welcome, a small but perfectly formed room with every thing needed and a freshly cooked to order and piping hot breakfast. Julie and Allan the owners have thought of everything and take time to share news and suggestions with all their guests. Within easy (less than 5 mins) walking distance to the Minster and all other tourist attractions and a plethora of good restaurants, we will definitely be back for longer next time.

Lovely house...good location

Pros: Lovely, typical early Victorian (I think) house, well maintained. Very nice owners, down to earth folk, who make you welcome. Excellent breakfast...
Cons: Wifi
Location: Very close to the cathedral and only short walks away most other attractions. Even the train museum takes only about 20-25 mins walk.
We stayed in the attic room but being in our 70s this was a bad choice. Had no idea it was at the top of the house when we booked. Not suitable for people with back problems, like myself or anyone with lung problems, like my friend. Room has sloping roof, being in the attic, so prone to head bumping. Bathroom door has no proper lock so is open at all times unless you use the little bolt inside the bathroom door. Bath etc is lovely, but no shower as such. I had a bath but could not lift myself out of it...no handle or place to hold on to so good job I wasn't alone. TV is so small it's hardly watchable, and that is because, I think, there is no place to put a larger screen and with the absence of reliable wifi it would have been nice to be able to watch something before you turned in for the night. We stayed whilst there was a bit of a heat wave and it was uncomfortably hot being in the roof of the house. Portable air-con springs to mInd. Personally I would take off the dressing table mirror, which no one needs, and wall mount a larger tv screen. Get a proper lock fitted on the bathroom door and warn clients that it's at the top of the house so may not be suitable for their needs. Now then, having said all the negative things there is much going for this lovely house and lovely owners who make you very welcome. The breakfast offered is more than just good...cereals, yoghurts, fruit etc as well as full English cooked. I will definitely come back and recommend it..
