We had a great stay in King John I studio as a family of 4. The studio was spacious and very clean. The sofa bed was large and very comfortable. The location was excellent as it was close to the river and no more than 15 minutes walk to all the main attractions in York. There are lots of bars and restaurants very close by although the noise late at night and early morning was no more than you would expect from staying in a city centre and did not hinder our stay at all. The host was very responsive. The only things which could have been better are that the shower was a little slow to drain which meant standing water in the wet room bathroom for a few minutes so nothing major and the main window looked directly onto the street so some sort of coating on the window to prevent people being able to see in would be good as we had to keep the blind closed for privacy which meant no natural light. We would definitely stay here again.
Stayed 3 nights in May 2026
