We needed a night's accommodation in York. Having been to the Churchill Hotel before we knew it was suitable and were not disappointed.

Lovely stay

Staff anazing very helpful, room was lovely,hotel situated just outside city walls so not far from minster. Parking space in hotel grounds which can be a rarity in york. Breakfast was nice, definitely going again

Misrepresentation

Misrepresentation. Superior Room booking...we hoped for a smart room with a view but it was a basement dungeon. Everything is short changed, breakfast, etc. Parking was £18 per night we thought included, rip off is in the small print. Bit scruffy, room full of dust and crumbs. Staff were very friendly but untrained. Overpriced at £175/ night it was worth a £75 at best. We want a part refund/

Place is Excellent. The service desk, Ian, went above and beyond - gave us the low down of places to visit and eat - top notch. Our stay here truly set the tone for our vacation travel to England. Highly recommend this place - just fair warning, don’t trust Apple or Google, enter the parking from the front haha

We loved the decor and the high ceilings which gave a feeling of style and spaciousness. It was quiet, we didn't hear other guests - but then the hotel wasn't full. The little extras in the room were also a nice touch. We didn't have breakfast - the cost felt a bit high. The staff were very helpful.

Last minute break

Wonderfull 2 night stay. Room very well equipped, love the fact that the toiletries where full size not tiny little useless bottles. Bath towels beautiful soft. Hotel Beautiful and in fabulous grounds. Bar staff indoor and outdoor very professional , nothing was any trouble for them, but did think that reception staff didn’t come across as professional as the rest of the hotel staff, eg on arrival staff were eating behind reception desk and seemed to be standing around talking at the end of the reception desk. Same on departure the reception staff did lack a certain level of professionalism eg did not ask if we enjoyed our stay or engage in any small polite conversation, and again staff standing at the end of the reception desk talking.

We loved the location and the style of this property. Beds were comfortable, staff was friendly, and the property was impeccable. Be aware that the rooms are small, which was not a problem for us as we truly only spent time there to sleep!

Nice stay

Really excellent staff, convenient location, nice enough rooms and spotlessly clean, but unfortunately the sound isolation between our room and either side was really bad, so not ideal if you’re sensitive to that.
