Wonderful

This is a really nice and clean hotel. I appreciated the tile floor over carpet. The courtyard is beautiful with a great fire pit in the middle with a warm fire going strong. Beds were comfortable and the restrooms were clean. The lobby is relaxing and clean with a great coffee bar.

Our room was spacious and well appointed in a sort of streamlined, Scandinavian-aesthetic way, with plenty of room for luggage and gear. Coffee and a small menu of food (bagels, yogurt bowls, pizza, etc.) were available for purchase in the lobby. Perhaps because of this, there were no coffee makers in the rooms, and an early-morning search for our caffeine fix revealed no staff in the lobby until nearly 8:00 am, leading us to go off-campus in search of a cuppa. The beds were very comfortable, the lobby had games and cozy places to gather, and the room fridge was plenty big for what we needed. Overall, a great place to stay, and we'd go there again if we were in the area.

We arrived when the electricity was turned off because of the santa ana winds. We provided debit card info for one of the rooms and a credit card for the other room. It was done manually (on paper) because the power was out. I received the bill for both rooms. I asked them to correct this. It is unclear what happened to the paper registration. They refused to refund me for the second room. They failed ascertain what happened to the registration info.

New and clean with a minimalist feel.

This place has a very minimalist feel. No closets, but a hiking theme room with a peg board to hang your clothes on and a bungee cord holding your toilet paper on a hook. The bed was very comfortable. The place is new and clean.

2 stars for the front desk people all being kind, the coffee was good & bed was comfortable. Minus stars for a few reasons. I had left a voicemail the morning of my reservation to see if I could check in any earlier due to the LA fires (the reason I booked the room) - I never received a call back. So I checked in at the normal time , went to my room and noticed the lights only worked in the front half of the room. No lights would turn on by the bed. I immediately told the front desk and they said they didn’t have any more rooms , but that they’d send maintenance to come fix it - maintenance never came. Also the walls are thin. The person above me was stomping around their room literally all hours of the night (woke me up again at 3am and 5am). I barely got any rest. Also agree with others about the lack of warmth in the room. Just concrete floors and cheap materials. Not exactly the relaxing escape from the city that I thought it would be.

Three day stay at Joshua Tree

Very good place to stay while enjoying Joshua Tree park for hikes etc. Room very comfortable, especially the bed and pillows. But missing comfortable chairs. Only one folding chair and a bench in the room, though there’s plenty of space. Also missed having a kettle for hot water

When I return, I’d like to stay longer.

It was relaxing visit. I had to work in the middle of the day and found the space perfect during this timeframe. Staff was very friendly at check in and out and the bonfire in the evenings was a very nice touch.
