The service was exceptional. The check in staff were extremely attentive and personable. The free breakfast buffet was delicious and different day to day. The complimentary bike rental allowed us to easily explore the lakefront. The property is on an ecological center and there were daily sightings of monkeys around the property which was a highlight. Hotel arranged free taxi to and from the bus station which was slightly over 1 mile away. Would definitely stay here again.

The property provides free bikes to be used by customers which is very convenient to get around. Breakfasts the property provided was high quality and fresh. I like the big deck where we were having breakfast

Hinn Express High Standard Met in all categories.

WE had a good stay at the Holiday Inn Express Taichung, a pleasant surprise 4 levels of Outlet shopping, a Starbucks outlet beside the lobby, a restaurant (where our bet buffet is served also on the lobby. The hotel is a short walk to the Taichung park across the street. The bus depot for Sun Moon Lake is just around the corner, would be a good hotel to stopover for a side trip to Sun Moon Lake. We would stay here again if we come back to Taichung.

Pretty nice place. Lake view from the hotel room is beautiful. Reception staff has a welcoming smile and are going out of the way to help you with queries which is really commendable and amazing. A bit of a walking to the downtown though but walking track is pretty nice.

This is a family run hotel and the staff really friendly. Hotel appears new I would say 3-4 years old. It's a bit of a distance away from both of Sun Moon Lakes main areas, but the bus stops at the bottom of the hill of the hotel so really no problems getting around. All the rooms face the lake and the scenery is excellent. Breakfast is plentiful and well stocked. Grounds are clean and no charge to use the bicycles, which there are plenty of. The staff really makes you feel welcomed. BTW this standard for all of Taiwan.

This is a lovely hotel with a beautiful view of Sun Moon Lake. Rooms are clean and updated. Our room had a small balcony with view of the lake. Breakfast included was delicious with a great variety. Hotel staff picked us up at the bus station within 5-10 minutes of our phone call to them and also drove us there after we checked out. Bicycles on hand for free use by hotel guests and dinner (although limited menu) available on site. Hotel staff extremely helpful and friendly. Highly recommend this hotel.

Close to Sun Moon Lake

Bamboo rock hotel is next to the Sun Moon Lake and it is very convenient to travel around as we drove. Hotel is generally quiet.

Quiet friendly hotel with excellent lake views!

Great little hotel recommended by the Lonely Planet book. A short bike ride from downtown (or walk) with excellent lake views. Very friendly and helpful staff, comfortable and clean rooms.

A wonderful stay assured

It was a really pleasant surprise to see this small hotel tucked away in the midst of a bamboo forest. Fortunate for us to find this reasonably priced hotel in Hotels.com website in the Sun Moon Lake area which is very popular tourist destination. It is a rather small hotel with only 20 rooms, but the service was excellent with very helpful and friendly staff, and the free breakfast was fantastic with a good spread of local and international food. We had an old folk with us, and when she needed a ride to a nearby jetty, a staff offered to drive her there without extra charge as no taxi would pick up a fare for that short distance. The rooms are clean, comfortable and very spacious with two queen sized beds, with a balcony that had a good view of the lake. The exterior may look a little worn out, but the inside tells a different story - very clean and welcoming. A highly recommended hotel, a little distance away from the main tourist areas which can sometime be too crowded and noisy.

Room was excellent with lovely views of the lake. Breakfast was both traditional and Western. As a bonus, was able to borrow bikes from hotel at no charge. Great location to explore Sun Moon Lake. Recommended.
