What Hotel Moda lacks in aesthetic charm found in traditional Japanese ryokan, it more than makes up for in modern amenities, comfort, and level of service. The private onsen is clean and spacious and my wife and I really liked their curation of toiletries and accessories - I was particularly taken by the pajamas the hotel prepared. The staff was incredibly considerate and even generously provided free transportation to/from the town center (a cab from Yufuin station would otherwise cost about ¥1,000). I would definitely stay at Hotel Moda again!
