Boutique hotel rooms need cleaning

The only good thing about this hotel was the location. Upon arrival I was told my room was ready. When I proceeded to the room, I found it unclean with hair all over the bedding and bathroom. I requested reception to come take a look which they did and they had housekeeping replace the blanket and pillows. Housekeeping did not seem happy to do this. The AC is a portable one that is not very strong. I would not stay here again.

It is our second time back to the hotel and we loved it here. We booked the owner’s suite previously and this time round we booked both the owner’s suite and Tower suite. Lovely staff and walkable to tourist attractions.

Great location

Excellent location in the old town. Very close to numerous restaurants and bars. Also close to the rover and a short walk to the lake. Our bathroom was dated but otherwise the family room was good. Tight with 2 kids, but it’s Europe. The breakfast was very good and the staff pleasant. The AC was a portable machine but worked well. Overall, great stay with no issues.

This hotel was mostly fine. It was in a great (though sometimes noisy at night) location & convenient to lots of places. The bed was fine and the breakfast was okay. It does say check in is at 3:00 p.m. So when we arrived at about 8:30ish in the morning we weren't super surprised that our room wasn't ready. That was fine. We explained that we'd flown all night and had both had about 3 hours tops of sleep so were just super tired. We went out and explored for awhile and then came back at about 1:30ish p.m. when we were so worn out we just couldn't push ourselves further. The room was still not ready which, again, was understandable. But we explained that we'd go sit in their lounge area and to please let us know when the room was ready. By about 2:40 p.m., I went downstairs because I was so desperately tired I just needed to sleep and my husband had fallen asleep multiple times on their sofa. The woman at the desk then checked & said the room was ready. I got the impression it had been ready for awhile. I get that we were early before check in and that it was not the hotel's fault that we'd taken an overnight flight to get to Zurich from the United States. All of that is true - but no effort was made at all to help with even a slightly earlier check in or remember us at all. I just found this to be really disappointing - all 5 other hotels we stayed in in Europe were super accommodating if we arrived a little earlier than check in due to train/bus times.

Great location, great people. Only issues we had were that the bedding fits the mattresses so poorly that you constantly have to fix them, and the portable a/c units they have (summer heat wave) sound like a freight train and barely cool the room down even when going full blast all night long. Also we found that the breakfast eggs and bacon had a tendency to repeat on you, so we were careful in our choices going forward.

Was in the VERY walkable part of OLD Zurich. Lots of restaurants and shops. No cars I the old er section. Near the river with touring boat and #15 tram. Hotel has nice rooms and a bonus "family" room with TV, library and coffee and tea maker. Loved this hotel!

Loved Hotel Wellenberg! The location was terrific, and had everything within walking distance - restaurants, shopping, beautiful churches, the library and Lake Zurich, just to name a few. The room was nice and spacious with not only a Nespresso machine but a kettle for boiling water for tea. The staff was super friendly and helpful as well. I highly recommend Hotel Wellenberg and would definatley stay there again!

Hotel was very charming. Staff was super friendly and nice. Great location, easy walking to shops and lots of restaurants. 10 minute walk to the train station. Room was a bit small, but had all conveniences needed. The only inconvenience was the whole lobby was completely closed during our stay (for some filming project). So we were not able to enjoy the lounge and sitting areas with views of the city streets from our hotel which was disappointing.

Location was great, hotel front staff were great and the hotel had a nice little courtyard and lobby area for relaxing. Room was spacious and fairly clean, various plugs didn’t work though HOWEVER, the room cleaner clearly helped themselves to our stash of strawberry creme Lindt that we got from the Lindt museum and had a spray of my partners new perfume as they left the lid off. Not bothered about the chocolate or a couple of perfume sprays, but makes you on edge about what else the cleaner has been looking through…

The Wellenberg was a very nice hotel. It is located in Old Town and about 10-15 minutes walking distance from the train station. The staff was very friendly and the room was very nice and clean. The breakfast that came with the room was excellent! A large variety of breakfast items. We would stay there again!

I really liked the guest lounge with free coffee and tea Very homey! I loved the outdoor patio and tastefully decorated rooms although some on the small side The AC is the kind vented out the window and is quite noisy . Great location in the heart of the old town .

We stayed in this hotel for 3 wonderful nights. The hotels location is perfect, walking distance to all the major sites and only 2 blocks away from a big secure parking garage. Every night we would end our evening in their lounge with free coffee, it was amazing. Their location is the best thing. It was our first of 7 hotels in the country and one of our favorites
