Overview

Your adventure begins in the village of Kyzart, the main gateway to Son-Kul Lake, located approximately a 5-hour drive from Bishkek. We can also arrange an optional transfer from Bishkek to Kyzart for your convenience. After lunch, you’ll set off on horseback towards the stunning Son-Kul Lake. Each day includes around 4 hours of horseback riding, allowing you to enjoy the spectacular mountain scenery at a relaxed and comfortable pace.
Son-Kul Lake is a stunning alpine lake located at an altitude of 3,016 metres in the heart of Kyrgyzstan. Surrounded by rolling green pastures and snow-capped mountains, During summer, nomadic herders bring their livestock here to graze, living in traditional yurts that dot the lakeshore. The lake freezes completely from November to May, creating a dramatic, icy landscape. Son-Kul is also home to diverse birdlife, including cranes and golden eagles, making it a paradise for nature lovers and photographers alike.

Kyzart

Arrive in Kyzart at 12:00 PM for horse-riding instructions, then begin a 4-hour horseback ride to Kilemche Valley with a short break along the way. Upon arrival, enjoy a tea break, followed by free time for a sunset walk, and an overnight stay in a traditional Kyrgyz nomad yurt.

Son Kul Lake

Kyzart (Pass by)

After breakfast, take a 4-hour horseback ride back to Kyzart Village via the Kara-Kyia Pass at an altitude of 3,340 metres, with a short break for panoramic photos along the way. Then drive back to Bishkek.
