What you can expect

After stopping by the front desk, we will explain the stages of your route and leave you a map of the route with information about nature and the environment!
Afterwards, you choose a container to keep your belongings safe, a life jacket that fits your size, and a paddle. We will also help you get settled aboard your canoe-kayak. And let the adventure begin!
Here you are, gliding peacefully on the water to discover the Argens!

After a 3 km canoe trip on the Argens, you arrive at the small Lac Noirel. Along the way, you may have come across pond turtles, European bee-eaters, or kingfishers… You will have enjoyed the magnificent vantage points of the Rocher de Roquebrune sur Argens. It is a brown/red mountain overlooking the lower Argens Valley.

Once you arrive at the small Lac Noirel (a lake nestled at the foot of the Rocher de Roquebrune sur Argens), you can rest a little, enjoy the view of the rock, take a well-deserved dip, and have a small picnic or snack to recharge your batteries.
Then make a U-turn and head back by canoe or kayak to the base of the Rock, with only 3 kilometres of calm gliding left, always with new views of the Rock! Swimming and cooling off in the Argens are highly recommended!

What time should you choose? In the morning, in the afternoon, between noon and 2:00 PM…
• A morning departure allows you to enjoy the sun lighting up the Rocher, which is a great time for photos! And also to see animals more easily (herons, kingfishers, etc.).
• Late morning departures allow you to take a picnic with you and enjoy the warmth and maximum sunshine (swimming and sunbathing are on the agenda!)
• It's also good to know that the sea breeze choices up in the early afternoon, which significantly cools the air and promises magnificent silvery reflections on the Argens.
• In the late afternoon, the time slot from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM is also very pleasant, the light is softer and the reflections are magical… It's a little cooler and there are also fewer canoeists on the water.

Flora/fauna info:
• The best time to come and discover the hornets is from April to July.
• There is a regular chance of seeing pond and red-eared slider turtles basking in the sun.
