We had such a great day with M for the Chiang Rei tour. M was prompt, funny and kind with a nicely cleaned vehicle. We toured several temples, including a less well known one which was amazing. M made sure we stayed hydrated constantly providing bottled water. The lunch spot he took us to was delicious. We had a long day due to an accident on the highway and M made sure we stopped and had sufficient refreshment after. If you want a great guide and to be in good hands book with M!

we had a wonderful experience with “M” our tour guide. He was right on time, the car was spotless and comfortable. M was an excellent guide and easy for our “English speaking brains” to understand. He provided insight with cultural depth and understanding as he was from Chiange Rai! Our tour was of the temples and he described the religious practices of the various buddhist groups whose temples we were visiting. He immediately offered ice cold water and had enough for us all day. Lunch options were discussed immediately and we chose the very local style—nice and spicey—delicious! He answered and discussed all our questions about everything from growing and harvesting rice to the local childrens’ school day. thank you M!!

Our guide, M, was the best. Professional, on time, knowledgeable, and friendly! He made the whole experience enjoyable from top to bottom I'd recommend this tour, and befriending M, to anyone spending any time in Chiang Mai if you want to get immersed in northern Thai culture outside of the city. 10/10 recommend to friends & strangers alike.

What a fabulous day! My wife, a good friend, and I just wrapped up our private day tour to Chiang Rai and couldn’t be happier with our experience. Our guide, M, was amazing. Pickup was prompt in his comfortable, clean Toyota Fortuner SUV and we spent the first ~90 minutes of our drive getting to know each other and chatting about what our day held in store. M is very knowledgeable, but that’s expected of a guide; what makes him truly great is his kindness, warmth, and sense of humor. It was easy spending time with him and we really appreciated his little gestures like buying us some rice cakes when we made our first pit stop at Mae Kachan Hot Spring, sharing some refreshing pineapple with us after lunch, and helping us cool down with chilled face wipes. Despite being a guide for 8 years, he exhibits a genuine curiosity in and joy for what he does: during our stop at Blue Temple I noticed him snapping a couple of his own photos, and at Rainbow Temple (which we had almost entirely to ourselves), he took a few quiet moments to pray. He was a willing and able photographer for us and never once rushed us as we reveled in the beauty of the temples we visited. THE TEMPLES…WOW! If you’re reading this review you’ve no doubt seen pictures of the 4 temples you’ll visit on this tour, but please trust me when I say photos do them no justice. They are each spectacular in their own way and while not as massive as Notre Dame, St. Peter’s, Sagrada Familia, or Hagia Sophia, truly humbling and awe-inspiring. It was a long day 12.5 hours door-to-door) and it’ll feel great to fall into bed, but we’ll do so with smiles on our faces and gratitude in our hearts for the amazing experience we had today.
