It was nice enough, however, when going past the area near the cruiseport there is a corner where the trees overhang. The bus was so close to tree, the branch snapped and as it went by the bus the branch flung past the open area upstairs and a large branch hit one of our group of 4 in the face. Luckily for her it hit her mouth. She had a very sore mouth for 3 days. It was swollen and had trouble eating or drinking. You can check your cameras as you know the time of our hop on hop off and area I’m talking about. Please have these trees trimmed before someone looses an eye.

We take the hop on bus every time we go to a new place, To start, Our guide didn’t really talk and I suppose because there was really nothing to say about Civitavecchia. The only thing maybe worth seeing was the thermal baths, which we didn’t know we had even arrived at, however they close at noon so not worth the journey there if time isn’t on your side. I’ve been in over 20 of these excursions and This is the only hop on/hop off bus I wouldn’t recommend. The cruise port is just a short 10 min walk to the heart of town where you can go to the market, restaurants, Unconditional Surrender statue. There is not much else to see here, head into town and enjoy some fabulous food, which in Italy is always in abundance.

Typical HOHO bus tour. Traffics was really bad for audio was far ahead of the bus. Otherwise a nice overview of the port city

very basic. the audio through earphones was good. The guide was too softly spoken. after a full circuit we waited onboard nearly 30 minutes. when we got off at stop 3 asked when it would return? Told approx 1 hour so we walked around and got back within 50 minutes! Waited another 25 minutes with no sign of bus. Walked to stop 4 still no sign of bus. Never saw it again so just went back to our accommodation. Money down the drain!

We got off at stop 12 of the tour and went back into the old City. Had looked forward to the Roman baths, but told by guide they close at 12:30pm
