Begin your trek in Kakkabe Village, Coorg, and make your way through the famous coffee and spice estates. Smell the coffee blossoms, cardamom, and pepper as the trail climbs gently through rows of shade-grown plants.

As the plantations give way to forest, enter the shola, a dense, primeval ecosystem found only in the high Western Ghats, above 1,500 metres. See moss-covered trees, rare endemic plants, and an eerie, beautiful silence broken only by birdsong.

Spot rare species most trekkers walk right past with the help of your guide, the Bird Man of Coorg. See endemic Western Ghats birdlife, ancient flora, butterflies, and reptiles hidden throughout the undergrowth.

As the forest opens, the sky appears. Stand on a sweeping open plateau, the cool mountain wind in your face and the summit of Tadiyandamol rising ahead of you. This final stretch across the grasslands is the most dramatic part of the trek, wide open, windswept, and utterly exhilarating.

At 1,748 metres, the entire landscape of Coorg stretches out below, mist-filled valleys, distant peaks, rolling green hills, and the vast expanse of the Western Ghats reaching to the horizon. On clear days, the view is simply unforgettable.
