What you can expect

Day 1: Nairobi to Maasai Mara
Begin your adventure from Nairobi, driving towards the iconic Maasai Mara. En route, stop for 10–15 minutes at the breathtaking Great Rift Valley viewpoint. Upon arrival, enjoy lunch at your camp, then set out on a sunset game drive in the Mara Reserve from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Return for a buffet dinner and rest at Rhino Tourist Camp with tents equipped with beds, linen, showers, toilets, mosquito nets, and electricity available morning and evening. Maasai Mara, Kenya’s crown jewel, is famed for vast grasslands, rich wildlife, and stunning viewing areas along the western escarpment.

Day 2: Full-Day Game Maasai Mara
After breakfast at 7:00 a.m., embark on a full-day safari seeking the Big Five and the legendary wildebeest migration, which attracts over 1.5 million animals from July to November. Witness the river crossings, home to crocodiles and hippos, and enjoy a picnic lunch within the park. Continue exploring the Mara’s diverse wildlife and landscapes until evening.

Day 3: Maasai Mara to Lake Nakuru National
After breakfast, check out and optionally visit a Maasai Village for $20 per person to experience local culture. Continue to Nakuru, with lunch en route at a traveler’s motel. Upon arrival, relax at your hotel, swim, or take a leisurely walk, as no game drive is scheduled today.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru to Lake Naivasha
Start early for a 3–4 hour game drive at Lake Nakuru National Park, home to white rhinos, flamingos, and diverse birdlife. After lunch at a traveler’s motel, drive to Lake Naivasha for a 1-hour boat ride to see hippos, pelicans, and other waterbirds. Optional activities include a Crescent Island visit ($35) or a 2-hour horse ride at Sanctuary Farm ($70).

Day 5: Hell’s Gate Park to Amboseli National Park
Depart by 7:00 a.m. for Hell’s Gate National Park and enjoy a guided biking safari or walk among zebras, buffalos, giraffes, and antelopes. Explore the gorges, caves, and geothermal features unique to the park. After lunch in Naivasha, drive to Amboseli and check in to relax and swim at your lodge.

Day 6: Full Day Amboseli
Spend a full day exploring Amboseli National Park, famous for its open plains and snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro backdrop. Spot predators, zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, and hippos. Enjoy a picnic lunch at Observation Hill and multiple stops for comfort before returning to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 7: Amboseli to Nairobi
