What you can expect

Discover the Via-Ferrata + Abseiling and the Arrábida Natural Park with a group of highly qualified specialists, and nature and adventure sports for over 30 years.

The Fenda da Arrábida of the Arrábida Natural Park is the perfect place for a Via-Ferrata + Abseiling experience. Within the Natural Park, hidden and protected by the endemic millenary flora and exclusive to the park, is the imposing and famous geo-monument of Fenda da Arrábida, with caves and natural rock walls dozens of metres high, obstacles which you will have to surpass. Let yourself be amazed by the landscape and discover the past that these rock formations have to tell you, between the picturesque town of Sesimbra and the city of Setúbal, less than an hour's drive from Lisbon.

At Via-Ferrata + Abseiling you will start with a safety briefing and an introduction to your guide/instructor and equipment. Afterwards, we'll travel by van to the starting point of the activity, during which you'll learn more about this natural area, its fauna, flora and geology, while you venture to overcome various natural and artificial obstacles, using various techniques, such as climbing, abseiling or horizontal and vertical progression by Via-Ferrata, always feeling safe and accompanied by experienced monitors, equipped with personal protection equipment. At the end of the Via-Ferrata + Abseiling, you will return to the starting point for a debriefing of the experience and share the highlights of the day.

The instructors and monitors are accredited by the National Mountaineering School – Federation of Camping and Mountaineering of Portugal.

Whether you are beginner or experienced, it is ideal to enjoy by yourself or in group, with your friends, family and/or partner, celebrate birthdays, bachelor(ettes), or school or corporate events, accessible to everyone.

Rafael was great. He was very passionate about what he does and that makes the experience more exciting. It was challenging at times physically but I’m glad I did it.

We had such a great time! It was the first time doing proper via ferrata with gear for us and our guide Rafael was really good at explaining everything and guiding us along the way. Was really cool to find about the local flora and fauna as well - and the views, wow! We will definitely be doing more via ferratas in the future, such a fun way to explore the nature! Thanks again for the experience and much recommended! :)

Recommendation! We did the tour today with Rafael and it was simply amazing. Rafael is an experienced tour guide from the region, and you can really tell that he loves what he does. We felt safe at all times, even though some of the ascents and descents were quite demanding. Rafael always gave us clear instructions without interfering too much and kept us entertained with interesting and funny facts about the local flora and fauna. He also took great photos — which was a big help, since getting out your own phone isn’t always easy. The tour was manageable for climbing beginners like us, though there were definitely a few challenging spots — which we really enjoyed. All in all, a fantastic experience, and the value for money is totally fair!

We had a great time, the activity consisted of caving, abseiling and a small bit of climbing the side of a mountain. The guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the mountain and its geography which added to the experience. Would definitely recommend.

Me and my partner really enjoyed the activity. Sandro and Samuel were both excellent guides- they were fun, really experienced, and also provided lots of interesting facts and history about the area. They also took some great photos while we climbed which they shared with us after. We have both done some climbing before so it wasn't too physically challenging, but the views were amaizng. Would definitely recommend others to give this a go.
