Overview

Fiji's original Off Road adventure transports you deep into the Fijian interior aboard our custom built Off Road vehicles. The adventure is brought to life by your guides who will share the incredible history of the region and of course introduce you to the Fijian culture and way of life.

By “Taking the Road Less Travelled” you will be able to see first hand historical & geological sites that still remain as they were from centuries ago.

The Off Road Cave Safari is a half day adventure (4.5hours) which culminates in an amazing visit to the most beautiful cave system in Fiji, the Naihehe Cave.

As part of this experience, we also seek the Bete (priests) permission before we enter the cave system.

Your guides will give you great insight into the Caves and the role they played during the Fijian warfare days and the significance of the region in the Last War of Fiji.

Highly recommend this tour. Saddam, Terri and Moses made it a most enjoyable and memorable day. In addition to the cave we learned a lot of history and insight into the Fijian culture. BBQ lunch was excellent.

My guides, Sadam and Moses, were the perfect hosts. Sadam explained the history of the villages we passed by on the way to the cave. He and Moses are locals from the villages we passed. Not only do they know their history inside and out, but they knew every one of the homes we passed by. After presenting our sevusevu (gift of kava) to the traditional priest who is the caretaker of the land, we were permitted to enter the cave. The cave is rich with history. The tour guides know the cave like the back of their hands because they've been visiting the cave since they were children. Sadam was a thorough, fun, and exciting guide for my tour. After the tour, the priest's family prepares lunch for you. I got to enjoy a meal with our guides and the family - learning a few Fijian words and talking with their kids. I would highly recommend this tour, especially if you'd like to learn some of the cool history behind the Sigatoka Valley.

It was fascinating to learn some history of Fiji. Sadam, our guide and Mohamed, our driver, were both from the area and knew it very well. Lunch was excellent. I was glad I had read reviews though, because there is water in the cave and you need shoes that you don't mind getting wet. Sometimes the water is pretty deep, so shorts are advisable too. This tour definitely shows you the real Fiji!

I recommend this unique experience to everyone. The route passes by awesome coastal sceneries and Fijian villages. The beach where we stopped is an ideal location for a relaxing swim even for small children. Tupi, Ecotrax’ reservation head is very responsive and communicates in a timely manner regarding the booking. Brittany, Loz and Leyla made sure our ride is safe and enjoyable. They even provided us with some historical background. The safety talk by Mandy gave us assurance that Ecotrax values safety.

Saddam and Moses live in two of the villages we visited and consequently were extremely knowledgeable about the area. Moses safely navigated us through stunning forests and countryside where only an off-road vehicle could travel, whilst Saddam regaled us with the history of the area. After meeting and receiving our blessing from the local priest we were ready to embark on the highlight of the tour, the cave visit. Not only were they stunning but their history truly fascinating. We finished off the day with a yummy BBQ lunch and, of course, a cup of Kava! A great experience that we would highly recommend.

The guides were all great. Saddam, who took us to the cave was very personable and funny. He also had some great serious stories to tell inside the cave. The drive to the cave went through farm land which in itself was part of seeing the real Fiji. This is an off the beaten track tour which is what I was looking for. Lunch also excellent.

The whole trip was memorable thanks to the guides, the Chief of the village, the cave itself. Everything. Special thanks to Sadam for helping this old lady over many of the ‘tougher’ spots in the cave!!

Una and Zac were great guides and explained lots of interesting facts about Fijian life in the villages. The cave tour was fantastic, and the explanations of the use, history and importance of the caves to the people was awesome. The company provides sarongs for he women which is a great idea and really helpful.
