Your experience begins on Salen Mountain, just above Hammerfest, where reindeer graze during summer and early autumn.

Your Sámi guide welcomes you at the camp and introduces you to the herd. The reindeer are accustomed to people and often approach calmly, allowing you to feed them by hand and take close-up photos while learning about their behaviour, life cycle, and the close relationship between reindeer and Sámi families.

After spending time with the reindeer, gather inside a traditional lavvu. With a fire burning and reindeer hides for seating, the atmosphere is warm and relaxed.
