Overview
Delft, 16th century. You wake up in the street with a bump on your head and blue porcelain fragments scattered around you. The tulip vase you were making for the Royal family is gone. You know who did it: the Pottery Pigeons. And you are going to get it back.
This self-guided mystery quest takes you on a walk through the historic heart of Delft. Using the Questo app on your smartphone, you follow the blue porcelain trail at 11 stops: from the Eastern Gate through the Koornmarkt canals, past the Gothic Saint Hippolytus Chapel and the Renaissance City Hall on Market Square, to the Nieuwe Kerk and the Vermeer Centrum, through the Old Church and the Museum Prinsenhof where William of Orange was killed, and on to Windmill de Roos. The eastern gate in Delft, Netherlands, is an example of Brick Gothic northern European architecture that was built around 1400. Around 1510, the towers were enhanced with an additional octagonal floor and high spires. This is the only city gate remaining in Delft; the others were demolished in the 19th century.

The Markt in Delft , in the Dutch province of South Holland , is one of the largest historic market squares in Europe, measuring 120 by 50 meters . The square is almost rectangular and is bordered on the short sides by the Nieuwe Kerk in the east and the town hall of Delft in the west. The connecting side streets also belong to the Market.
The Markt was set up on a silted creek ridge , raised by a creek of the tidal channel de Gantel , and is therefore one of the highest parts of the Delft city center.

The Old Church is considered to have been founded in 1246, when Count William II gave the industrial little city of Delft its own charter. The Prinsenhof in the city of Delft in the Netherlands is an urban palace built in the Middle Ages as a monastery. Later it served as a residence for William the Silent. William was murdered in the Prinsenhof in 1584 - the holes in the wall made by the bullets at the main stairs are still visible.

The windmill, de Roos windmill (The Rose), was built in 1679 and was used for the grinding of corn. However, the first mention of a mill in this particular location was in 1352. In fact, de Roos windmill is the only remaining windmill of fifteen mills that once stood in the Delft region.
