What you can expect

Start your day by meeting your guide at 5:45 AM at the Papeete Marina. Leave the dock at 6:00 AM as your delicious local breakfast awaits. Fill up on Viennese pastries, fresh fruit, coffee, or tea before the adventure starts.

Enjoy a scenic 2-hour crossing and begin to catch sight of the island ahead. Arrive shortly after and approach the island on a dinghy landing.

Once disembarked, the hostess begins her guided walk to Bird Island, where the history and legends of Tetiaroa will unveil their secrets to you. Enjoy free time to explore the island, take photos, swim, sunbathe, or take a siesta.

Head back to the boat where lunch awaits you: raw fish with Tahitian-style coconut milk, hot rice, tuna marinated on the barbecue with fruit juices, water, and cold drinks. After lunch, you'll be provided with snorkelling equipment so you can swim along the reef and observe all the marine life.

After swimming, return to the boat and depart for Tahiti. Before arriving, you'll be treated to a fruit salad and a glass of punch.

Early start to the day, but worth it! Beautiful sunrise over the harbor. Cpt. Manea, First mate Than and boat stewatd Clarita were a great crew. The island is a three hour sail out from Papeete, total tour time is 11 hours. The istand walk was inforative, the swimming was delightful. Make sure you take a bottle of water onto the boat for walking/swimming on the island, you will need it. Water on board uses cups. After the island we went back on board the catamaran ( Zodiacs are used to acess the island) to have lunch. It was very delicious! Snorkeling was amazing, Reef sharks, huge grouper, parrot fish, amberjack, needlefish...very cool to swim with. Note, the island is made up of decaying coral, water shoes are a must, flip flops not recommended. Best shoe is a thick sole Teva type sandle. Tennis shoes, jean shorts are also not recommended for this trip. You will get wet on board from wave splash. 😜 long day on the water,, if you're not sure use motion sick patches. Glad i went.
