Departure from the Castro Marina Port, one of the most enchanting villages on the Salento coast, overlooking crystal-clear waters and jagged cliffs. Sailing along the bay, we'll stop to admire the spectacular Palombara and Rotundella Caves, carved out of limestone and characterised by unique plays of light. These caves are the result of millennia of erosion that has created fascinating cavities.
We will continue towards the Blue Grotto, famous for the enchanting colour of its waters, which range from deep blue to emerald green depending on the sunlight filtering through the opening. The visit to the Zinzulusa Cave, one of the most famous and important in Salento, is a unique experience: the name comes from the “zinzule”, the stalactites that hang like rags from the cave's vault, creating a surreal landscape. The cave is also home to some rare animal species, including small bats.
We will make a stop, from the outside, at Romanelli Cave, an archaeological site of great value, famous for its cave paintings dating back to the Upper Palaeolithic, testifying to the ancient human presence in the area.
The tour continues to the Grotta delle Striare, a legendary cave that owes its name to the “Striare” (witches) of Salento legends. The shapes of the rock, reminiscent of human faces, are at the centre of folk tales and stories related to magic and spells.
Next, we will reach the Bay of Porto Miggiano, one of the most fascinating inlets in Salento, with golden cliffs plunging into a crystal-clear sea. Here, we'll make a stop to swim in the waters with their indescribable colours.
The next stop is Santa Cesarea Terme, famous for its thermal waters and Moorish architecture. From the sea, we will admire Villa Sticchi, a symbol of the city, which stands out against the breathtaking panorama.
The tour continues… the next stop is in the direction of Porto Badisco, where a second swimming stop is scheduled, with a turquoise sea and a seabed rich in marine life that is ideal for snorkelling. A small snack with drinks will be served on board, and then we will return to the port of Castro Marina
