Zaragoza has a strange singularity: it's the only city in the Catholic world with two active cathedrals. But the million-dollar question is, why? Don't worry, we'll tell you everything on this tour!
Welcome to the Cathedral of the Savior, or as we call it here, La Seo de Zaragoza!
We invite you to visit with us a monument designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its Mudejar architecture, but La Seo has much more than that. With a spectacular mix of styles both outside and inside, La Seo is an impressive display of Aragon's great political power.
And, since it's been located in a sacred place for over 2,000 years, it hides countless incredibly fascinating stories. Did you know it was a mosque-cathedral? That there were multiple archbishops who were royal bastards? And that it was the scene of a murder? We'll tell you all this and much more!
And of course, we can't forget one of the city's gems: its tapestry museum, considered one of the best in the world for its sensational collection of Flemish tapestries from the 15th, 16th, and 17th centuries. These tapestries, bought by kings and archbishops, were hung both in the cathedral and in the Aljafería palace during the time of the Catholic kings, and in the archbishop's palace. Now they're in the museum so you can admire them as they deserve.
As you can see, the Cathedral of the Saviour is one surprise after another.
