La Granja del Colca
5/5 Excellent
"An amazing, unique place to stay. It’s so remote and the views are incredible! The condors really do fly straight past the property - you wouldn’t even need to leave!
Access can be tricky but very manageable - we booked a public bus from Arequipa to cabanaaconde and you have to tell the driver where you want to get off. The staff at La Granja came to pick us up from here. We booked through La Granja for a smaller minibus back to Arequipa which involved a few stops at viewpoints on the way home.
A point to note - there isn’t really anywhere else to buy food or drink other than the restaurant (which is great) so factor this in to budgetting!
It’s a 45min walk to La Cruz del condor and the walks in all directions from La granja are fantastic! Would definitely recommend and worth spending a couple of nights here to fully unwind and get to experience everything it has to offer.
