Amazin hotel that is centrally located in Athens close to everything you could want to do. The staff and accommodations were great. The view from our room is one we will never forget. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to visit Athens.

Great hotel- clean, comfortable beds, seems recently renovated, great and friendly helpful staff. I understand it is family run- the dedicated, responsive staff seems to bear that out with friendliness and flexibility. Location cannot be beat (walking distance to Acropolis/Museum), and the hotel’s rooftop view of the Acropolis is superb. Rooftop restaurant food also first rate fresh, creative and delicious. Wait staff could not be more professional, attentive and nice. We had a great stay, and wound up eating at the rooftop restaurant repeatedly, always perfect meals.

Location over Substance The Royal Olympic is ideally situated with a wonderful view of the Acropolis and other antiquities. The staff are helpful and work hard to assist but unfortunately couldn’t accommodate an early check-in when we arrived. The bell staff are terrific. Apparently it has been refurbished recently but there is little sign of it. The decor is dated and the rooms have a musty smell. We had a Panoramic View Room with a balcony and it definitely lives up to that. However, it was hard to get to sleep because it sounds like someone is running along the roof all night as the sound projects from the roof garden above. We only ate breakfast which has a varied cold and cold spread. Despite arriving at 7:45am all the hot food was cold. The rest of the items were standard fare. The bathroom had a whirlpool bath with a hand held shower. The hairdryer is one of the old integrated in the wall systems. My wife tells me it takes forever to dry your hair, I’ll have to take her word for it. At checkout you are charged a city tax. Add it to the booking or charge on arrival and provide a key return express checkout to leap into the 21st century. They already have taken a card as security. Overall, we wouldn’t return. Brilliant location but a dated feel so the overall experience reminded me of a faded motel on the Las Vegas strip and certainly wasn’t worth the 5 star price just for a view.

We stayed there a few years back and noticed a slight decline. The rooms are classic but contain no coffee pot (all hotels have coffee pots these days) and for the price, should have been included. Royal Olympic is not cheap. The buffet is average, far below what we had last time. The location is good, within walking distance of Parliament, Syntagma and Plaka.

The location is perfect the views are fantastic. Great service, good breakfast, nice pool, and the Athenian Panoramic View is worth the splurge! This is my 3rd stay and I will stay here again when i come to Athens.

TOP TIER. Absolutely beautiful hotel. Had the best cheeseburger of our trip at the pool. And the rooftop restaurant is immaculate. 10/10 customer service - and this is coming from somebody who has worked in the hotel industry. Couldn’t recommend this place enough!!

Beautiful lobbies and common elements. Easily walkable to many sites and restaurants . It’s time to upgrade the bedding and room electronics. We stayed for five nights and this was the least comfortable room out of our fifteen days in Greece. There are much more comfortable accommodations near by in the same price point. I believe this establishment is geared towards more business conference than vacationers. We stayed on the second floor in one of the panoramic view suites. I would stay again once the updates are made, but until then I do not recommend for staying several nights like we did.
