The food was good, but the hotel had only two very small elevators, each fitting just two people with one piece of luggage. Although I had already paid for the stay when I booked online, I was surprised to be charged an additional €15 tax upon checking out. I mentioned that this should have been included in the booking charges, but the lady at the counter, in a rather cold tone, simply said it was part of hotel policy. Because of this experience, I would not stay here again and cannot recommend this hotel to others. I

Great Hotel, Good Service, Close to Attractions

Fabulous Hotel, Lovely views from the restaurant and great food and breakfast, very nice pool and surrounds. Helpful staff and good service. This hotel is walking distance to most attractions and has transport very close. the hotel is in a nice area with good shopping and cafes, close to gardens and Hadrian's Arch we really enjoyed our stay at Royal Olympic Hotel

My only issue with the property was the rooftop bar only had one server and the bartender was not allowed to serve customers. His primary job was to be a service bartender so when the hotel was full on the weekend and every table was full. Everyone waited it 30 to 40 minutes for a drink. The manager's excuse was there's a system issue. The only system at issue was his of failure to staff the area adequately but didn't want to admit it. It was very obvious to everyone there. But all the servers were very friendly and did try to make up for it the best they could.

Such a shame... this hotel has great potential. Great location and good bones. It just seemed like management have given up! Some staff were just plain rude; others had almost no customer service. Rooms were very dated and the whole vibe was just a little odd. On a positive note, the hotel is very well located - close to the Plaka and Acropolis.

Not recommendable except the panoramic restaurant

Reception staff terribly rude and unhappy Restaurant staff amazingly friendly Concierge service by phone and by mail a disaster. All our booking from car at airport to private guide was not booked by hotel after even e-mail confirmation. So you should organise all by yourself and only have dinner at panoramic restaurant which was delightful

We spent three nights at this hotel (Friday thru Sunday). Loved the location being close to the Acropolis area. Short walk to the pathway that goes around the Acropolis and the Makrygianni neighborhood. Staff was very helpful and the room and facilities were very comfortable. Their rooftop restaurant (Ioannis Restaurant) has a wonderful view of the Acropolis in the morning and at night. Breakfast buffet was included with our stay and had a good variety (eggs, bacon, sausage, fresh fruit, juice, coffee, tea, breads) and was satisfying to keep you going through the day. We had dinner one night which is expensive but delicious. Recommend this hotel as a place to stay if you want to be in a location where you can visit Athen's historic sites and areas like Plaka, especially if you like walking.
