The building is older but the rooms and hallways were new. Very clean room which was cleaned every day.. The staff were friendly and were ready to help when asked. I had problem with the TV and the staff were quick to fix it. Some rooms share a bathroom but I chose one that included my own one. I also had an outside patio which opened to the sky.

A diamond in the rough!

Id never stayed at a hostel before so there were reservations. But i can say this was a nice experience. Was the place dated? Yes. Was it no frills? Absolutely. But it was clean, check in was easy, the location was cool, and it completely served the purpose. If you plan on soend a lot of time in the room, this may not be the place for you. But if you want a place to be at while you explore the city, its a great choice.

In an age where most places of this size have no human element to them (This was the 8th room of this trip to Spain. At three of them, there was no one there when I checked in in the late afternoon...they would only be there in the morning. At two places there was never any contact at all except with the maids. And then there were two big hotels) it was astonishing to not just have a 24 hour front desk person, but the gentleman who I had the majority of my interaction with was the best hotelier I have ever met. Everyone one else was great, as well. Great location. Great shower. Killer AC. Super comfortable bed. Very roomy. But the world's worst toilet. They shoehorned it in to the tighest space imaginable and then put the toilet roll holder in the most illogical place possible. Whoever designed that should be beaten. If you are an average sized sized adult human, you will have to remove your pants and underwear in the bedroom and then attempt to sit down and will probably end up sitting side-saddle.

Honestly really good, especially for the price. Beds were comfortable, AC was very strong, bathrooms were nice (large shower), and location overall was very good for being able to walk to everything in the city. Would definitely stay again.

This hostel was quiet, clean and well located. The room was private with a private bathroom as well. It was quite small and I got fresh towels daily. I had to ask for soap twice. Front desk staff was responsive but not especially friendly. The biggest drawback for me was the bed, which was very uncomfortable. I was there for several nights and by the end of my stay, my back was sore. I understand the whole "you get what you pay for" philosophy so I wasn't expecting a ton of creature comforts. This place was pretty bare bones but that's what I paid for. In the end, it was fine.
