The room was ok, but i thought i book a castle view room but my room was at the corner end where i could only see the tip of the castle, what a disappointment. I thought sustainability is part of the IHG concept but my toothbrush was being disposed by the cleaner everyday and i have to open a new one each time. I have experienced 3-4 times within an hour of workers knocking on the doors asking about room service but my room has actually done, but they missed one day in between. I doubt that, these worker doesn't know if the room has been done or just trying to check in the room? I look from the peep hole and they went into everyroom next to mine and obviously there was no one in it, the room door was close when they went in and came out a few minutes later. I supposed whenever the hotel staff's cleaning the room they should keep the door open to avoid unnecessarily misunderstanding, but the few times of knocking the room just feel weird.

Went with my family as a first city holiday. 2 adults, 2 children (10 and 7) and it was perfect to explore the city and still come back to a base with a great little pool on the rooftop. Cabs to anywhere were reasonable.

The rooms were not to the standard we would expect from a 4 star hotel. The mugs were dirty, the bathroom not thoroughly cleaned, the service was also not what we would expect, very casual and informal. Could be a lot more professional.

I love this hotel. It is spectacular to look at and smells wonderful. It was so perfect that even when I stepped into the elevator in bare feet as I was coming from the pool, the floor was not freezing. It was warm. We splurged for a suite since we were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. It was well worth it. The space was amazing, just like a small apartment and the furniture was on point. Loved the king-size bed, just what the doctor ordered. The bathroom and shower were perfect and the maid service impeccable. They made our room everyday and had turn down service at night. The front desk folks were friendly and the two concierge folks, Gema and Luis, very helpful. Gema planned a beautiful anniversary dinner for us at a local restaurant, which was amazing (Mirabe) with stunning views of Barca! She also recommended a fantastic Flemenco show (Casa Sors). The pool area was great with terrific views. And one of the best meals we had was at the hotel, the night we arrived. It was their rooftop terrace and the grilled octopus was perfection. Stellar property and exceptional service are true hallmarks of this hotel. We absolutely loved it and will always cherish our experience at the Intercontinental Barcelona! Mil gracias!!!!

Service was a little slow in the rooftop terrace. Then we noticed that our air conditioning was creating humid conditions in our room. Some of our paper shopping bags became soft. I expected better quality.. The door men were awesome, helpful and attentive.
