Wonderful Concierge service!! Beautiful vibe boutique hotel. Excellent check-in and escort from drop-off to hotel. You can’t reach the front by car, so one of the concierge will meet you! Only disappointment was service at breakfast. I was alone and ignored. Otherwise, excellent

Great honeymoon stay

We stayed at Mercer for our honeymoon and had a great time. The property is very well located within the streets of Gothic Quarter. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We didn’t get the chance to eat in the restaurant but had great martinis at the bar.

I rarely leave reviews for hotels, but decided to leave one for Mercer because I like the place so much. I’ve stayed here twice. First time was about five years ago, second time was in September 2024. The best part about the hotel is probably location within the historic Roman ruins of Barcelona. Some of the walls in our room were built in the second century. Nearly every museum, restaurant, historical attraction in central. Barcelona is walkable from the hotel. Otherwise, metro station is a two minute walk from the front door of the Mercer. The only drawback to the location is that the front of the hotel is in a tiny historical street where taxis really shouldn’t go. You’re best off getting dropped off on a main street 100 m or so away. Restaurant, staff , food quality are excellent. Rooms are a little bit on the small side, but just fine given the amazing location of the hotel. Price of the hotel is very reasonable given the incredible service and amenities. As a sidenote, many businesses in Barcelona seem to drown there buildings with perfumes. The first time I stayed at the Mercer, the perfume was nearly overwhelming. Mercifully (pun intended) they have gotten rid of the perfume and it is so much better.

The staff here is phenomenal and very helpful. Great recommendations on where to get nontourist authentic tapas dinners very quiet off the path where everybody is walking and less than a five minute walk to anywhere you really want to see. I will only stay here if I come back to Barcelona

I was impressed with the Mercer welcome and property at first, but later wanted to go to the rooftop pool - that is where it fell apart - there was a pigeon infestation and the pool deck was full of pigeon droppings and the birds were using the pool as their watering hole. There were feathers in the water it was unhygenic and nobody was around likely as it was distateful. Also when attempting to pay at the end of my stay the card machine did not work and the staff member Luca yelled "declined" as if my card was in fact the issue when it was not - was their machine and gave some babble about EU rules not allowing the remaining charges to be added to card on file already. Made no sense and the debacle left me leaving late for the airport. Not a great time.

Perfect but….

A beautiful jewel of a boutique hotel, perfect in every way. Excellent location, quick efficient service, far from the madding crowds yet walking distance to everything. The only downside and very upsetting-no way could we watch the biggest sporting event-the Olympics ! No arrangement was made for this special event.
