We arrived in Barcelona early on the day our reservation began and were unable to get an early check-in despite requesting one. I understand that it wasn't possible, but after we checked in at the scheduled 3 pm time, exhausted and jet-lagged, a man arrived at our door saying that he was there to "put a new cover on the couch". I thought that might be pretty quick, but I texted the property manager asking if we had to let them because we needed to go to sleep. She said we did, and they said it would bet less than an hour, which seemed like a lot. The process took 2 1/2 hours and involved an air compressor/nail gun running nonstop the entire time. It was insane. I contacted the management company on WhatsApp (where they were quick to respond earlier that day with the no early check in message) numerous times with increasing frustration. I can't believe I had to pay for 2.5 hours in a VRBO with an ear-splitting air compressor running and being unable to rest due to several men coming in and out repeatedly. This was just egregious, and the property management company never responded to any of my messages until several days later when I asked for a 45-minute late checkout due to our flight time. They responded quickly to say that wasn't possible even though I pointed out that we paid for hours of unusable time at the start of our stay. I will say that the property was clean and good-sized but the property management company was beyond awful and incredibly unresponsive!!
