Honestly? This hotel kinda ate. Staff was super sweet, the room and bathroom were spacious, and the lobby is low-key adorable with tons of seating. Plus there’s a coffee shop and an ice cream bar in the lobby, and a couple little stores and an ATM right next door. However, the air conditioner was only blowing warm air, which made the room uncomfortable, the shower space is tiny, and the coffee shop opens way too late (like please, bare minimum is 6am). Additionally, the surrounding area offers limited walkability; most shops, restaurants, and landmarks are only accessible by car or rideshare.

I had a pleasant stay at the Grand Mercure Beijing Central. The staff provided excellent service, and the lobby was charming and well-maintained. My room was comfortable and thoughtfully arranged. However, the air-conditioning only produced warm air, making the room less comfortable, and there were no options for a hot coffee available around 6 a.m. Overall, a lovely hotel with great service and atmosphere, but improvements to air-conditioning and early-morning amenities would enhance the experience. ⭐ 3.5 / 5

The staff were very helpful, we arrived early 10am and they were able to give us a room straight away which I thought was excellent service. The property was very clean and tidy and is close to subways and malls. The only negative I could see was it is very outdated.

Extremely helpful staff

When I arrived the front desk staff, particularly Frank was excellent at helping me with an issue I was having. He went out of his way to help me, even calling a few people on my behalf. The hotel location was very convenient, easy walking to two subways and multiple bus lines.
