Very poor by Malmaison standards in just about every area. Bathroom was filthy and not cleaned properly in ages. Extractor didn’t work. Shaver didn’t work. Thermostat didn’t work. Reported it. Never heard anymore and it didn’t get fixed. Booked restaurant for dinner. Arrived to find it closed for the night. Offered a dark table in the corner of the bar instead. Couldn’t get served drinks in the bar. Asked 3x. In the end gave up and went to the hotel across the road for drinks and dinner and that was excellent. The only good thing about this hotel is the breakfast and service from the waitress. The rest is awful. Best to avoid. I’m sure Belfast has better and I know from experience at other Malmaison’s they can do far better.

Lovely hotel in a central location nearby the main attractions and places to eat/drink in Belfast. The bar was also a good spot. The staff were friendly and very helpful throughout the stay. The rooms were a good size, comfortable and had a great shower. Only downside was no climate control which meant the room was hot due to warm weather outside - a fan had been provided as opening the window wasn't an option on such a busy road.

Hotel needs a serious refurbishment

Nice staff, good concept, stated in it years ago when it was nice, but now it’s become seriously dated, dirty and tatty. Bed needs replacement and entire place needs a refreshment.

Expected better

My stay at the malmaison was by no means the worst hotel stay I’ve ever had , but I expected better being Malmaison the staff I dealt with on the front desk were friendly, polite & helpful so Top marks front of the house, it was my room that disappointed the most, having paid almost £500 for 3 nights in a deluxe room, the room was small & the mattress stained on one side not what you’d expect, a non complimentary mini bar with drink overpriced for the price you’d expect Free gratis. You may think this whimsical moans but I’ve stayed in other top hotels in Belfast & feel that they gave better value for money

Abit tatty now

Hotel is looking quite tired and tatty in lots of areas. Rooms carpet was very old with lots of stains, loads of chips and marks on the furniture and doors. Windows absolute rubbish and keeping sound out from the road. Yes I appreciate no window will block it out but the one we had was awful. Main reason for low score was you are meant to feel refreshed after s nice nights sleep. Not the case. Pillows were useles so thin and flat, has to use cushions from the chair and as mentioned the noise from outside meant I kept waking and I wouldn’t class myself as a light sleeper either. I wouldn’t return.

Nice hotel in great location. Excellent bar staff.

Stayed the one night. Excellent service and a clean hotel room. Ate delicious bar food and drank well made cocktails. Bar staff very friendly and accomadating. Breakfast was good however it took 40 mins from ordering until we were served the food. Only other negative remark- got a call from front desk at 8am telling us our taxi was ready despite never booking a taxi. Apart from that, highly recommended stay. Would stay again.
