Overall the hotel are doing very well to keep people safe. Easy checkin/out and although there are no public food and drink, other than the outside patio, they provide everything for your room. Even cutlery, plates etc should you have food delivered in.

Nice enough hotel with character but showing its age. Breakfast is good and staff friendly but restaurant in the evening is not so great. Health club next door is equally tired and past its best.

Had problems getting a drink the bar not manned all the time was made even worse Thurs and Fri due to Xmas party's going on else were in the building and guests were made to wait 15/20min

given large room, but curtain would not close when reception was informed i aas given paper clips to sort it out , and told it would be fixed next day which it wasnt, room was not cleaned on our 2nd day, old towels were not replenished, tea and coffee refreshments were not replaced and rubbish was not cleared. bathroom tap was broken and would spray out the sink. pillow had black mark on it.

Great stay

Lovely large double room (massive bed!). Room was clean, fresh and comfortable. We were on the ground floor, and were staying for a local family wedding (not at this hotel). On returning late back to the Mercure, there was some music coming from an adjacent function room, but this only continued for about 10 minutes (until about midnight) and did not spoil our stay at all. Breakfast was served until 11am on the Sunday morning, and the staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful.
