Great stay in Bologna

Valentina greeted us and was very welcoming and friendly, she showed us our room which had everything we needed including a breakfast hamper with a selection of options. The room was clean and comfortable. Valentina even kindly allowed us to store our luggage in our room before our room was ready and after check out so we could continue exploring Bologna. Location was a 15 walk from the train station and a 10 minute walk to the main square.

Nice 2 night stay

Had a lovely 2 night stay here at the Steam House. Check in was smooth and no problem. Room was large and very comfortable. Very quiet inside at night considering there was a busy bar right outside.Liked the Jules Verne theme. The complimentary breakfast left in the room was a nice touch. The walk into the old town area was about 14 minutes.Would definately stay here again.

A Must Stay

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Steam House. Valentina was amazing and made sure we were well taken care of for our stay. The staff stocks the room with an abundant selection of snacks and pastries, drinks, even a meat and cheese tray. I was worried about the lively bar just below the room, but the windows are surprisingly soundproof and we slept like logs. Quick ten minute walk to the city center and more choices for food than you'll know what to do with. Highly recommend.

We loved it (but this area is not for children!)

Great little apartment in a great area (although I wouldn’t describe the area as child friendly- we saw quite a lot of open drug taking and rough sleepers right outside and the bars either side got very loud and busy) this wasn’t a concern for us at all but I wouldn’t have wanted to be there with children. The rooms are great, service was helpful and the in-room breakfast was fantastic. Would definitely stay again

We loved Steam House. The room had real character and the location was great. There were 2 adults and 2 children and, even with 2 single beds and a queen size bed, plus our luggage, the room felt spacious and was well equipped. The breakfast provided was generous and certainly filled us up before we started the day. Steam House represented very good value for money and I would recommend it to anyone wanting a place to stay in Bologna.

Great stay in Bologna. Walking distance to everything. Was a bit of a pain trying to get into the bldg initially amd wish there was someone available at the front desk to ask questions of, but the hotel contact was super quick to respond via text. Large open space, clean, highly recommend

Great location.

Beautiful room in the heart of Bologna with many bars and restaurants a short walk away. Room is spotlessly clean with breakfast items left in fridge. Would not hesitate to stay again.

Spotlessly clean & comfortable with a quirky steam punk vibe, this unique property in an area within walkable distance to many tourist attractions. Plenty of restaurants nearby to suit all tastes and budgets. The owner provided a useful list of information including taxi numbers and so on.

Room in Bologna

Excellent room, super comfortable, spacious and clean. Despite being on a street that is very busy and noisy at night, the room is quiet, the windows block all sounds.The restaurants and bars everywhere in Bologna are great, but downstairs seems to be a very vibrant aerea. The staff was very helpful, accommodating and kind. Highly recommend.

Like another fellow traveler, we were not provided check in instructions before we arrived. After a full day of travel we were stuck standing in front of a big wooden door surrounded by graffiti and stickers, and people sitting all around in a bar staring at us, unable to enter because there was no one there to open the door, though we were there at the agreed upon time. We had to call to get someone to press the button for us to enter. After going through four different doors, We finally arrived at our rental. The room was very clean and matched the pictures perfectly, the bed is the best bet we slept on during our entire three week trip. Breakfast was just ok, like any 2 star hotel..though this is not a hotel. The train station is a 20 minute walk, or 10 minute bus. The hostess was very accommodating, she just really messed up in the beginning so we were off to a not so good start.

Our room was very large and comfortable. Valentina was very kind. We were given a free minibar with soft drinks, biscuits, jams, coffee and tea. The area is bustling with students so there are lots of great bars and restaurants. Despite the noise from the street, the room was well isolated so we had a lovely night. Overall, we’re very pleased with our stay.

the property is kept very nicely and is very clean - valentina was a lovely host and very helpful with our trip to bologna - this is a lovely property, one floor up (no lift) in a youthful and energetic neighborhood - easy walking to the center of bologna and convenient to the train station

Terrific location to explore Bologna on foot. Personal welcome from the lovely Valentina, comfortable beds and a really good shower. The big let down was the thoroughly inadequate AC. We tried to set it to the coolest setting but it wasn’t up to the task. We had a terrible time trying to sleep through the August heat

The room was very quiet, staff very friendly (notes only on site a few hours a day) No lift for bags and you have to enter through a security gate. Ok for us but may be inconvenient for some. Area very convenient and becomes a great hub of activity at night. Really loved the style of the room.
